You are confusing 'skill' with 'stuff'. Estrada doesn't really have great stuff (although his changeup is a plus pitch when he is on), but he has the last couple years (more often than not) used skill to pitch effectively. Pretty bad stretch he has been going through lately at a time when the Jays can not afford it.

Bolsinger 5 games, 25.2 ip, ERA 5.61

Estrada 4 games, 16.1 ip, ERA 12.68

 

Will Estrada turn it around? Maybe (can't get much worse at least)? Do the Jays have the luxury of carrying him hoping that he does?
