Jonn Old-Timey Member Posted June 20, 2017 Posted June 20, 2017 Pillar's early season approach has vanished, jumping at everything it seems like. His calm and patient demeanor at the plate is gone.
gruber92 Old-Timey Member Posted June 20, 2017 Posted June 20, 2017 All this s*** because of that worm killer Choo hit.

wk680 Verified Member Posted June 20, 2017 Posted June 20, 2017 If he's not hurt he can't go on the DL,as there's literally nobody else who can start until Sanchez is back. With as bad as Estrada has been his last 4 outings, I would take my chances of getting something better from someone currently in Buffalo. Would Bolsinger really do worse? I see Harrell has had a couple good outings in AAA, so maybe give him a shot.
StubbinHub Verified Member Posted June 20, 2017 Posted June 20, 2017 Pathetic? Estrada isn't a high skill pitcher? How is stating that fact pathetic?
baubau Verified Member Posted June 20, 2017 Posted June 20, 2017 stephen brunt makes a piece on Pompey, goes downhill. stephen brunt makes a piece on Sanchez, goes downhill. stephen brunt makes a piece on Estarda, goes downhill. KEEP THIS MAN AWAY!!! yes, this is another terrible joke, brought to you by BAUBAU
wk680 Verified Member Posted June 20, 2017 Posted June 20, 2017 Pathetic? Estrada isn't a high skill pitcher? How is stating that fact pathetic? You are confusing 'skill' with 'stuff'. Estrada doesn't really have great stuff (although his changeup is a plus pitch when he is on), but he has the last couple years (more often than not) used skill to pitch effectively. Pretty bad stretch he has been going through lately at a time when the Jays can not afford it.

There is a reason he has been DFA'd and cleared waivers twice this year.
StubbinHub Verified Member Posted June 20, 2017 Posted June 20, 2017 Guys hit a wall in their career, especially those without plus-skills. Perhaps Estrada bounces back and and becomes a somewhat usefull innings-eater like Dickey and his 10 and 12 type-seasons with a 4+ ERA. That's your ceiling on this guy now, so stating such is not to troll, it's a fan telling the truth.

glory Old-Timey Member Posted June 20, 2017 Posted June 20, 2017 Estrada hurting the team's chances and his trade value at the same time. f***.

I am talking about better than Estrada over his past 4 outings (including today): Bolsinger 5 games, 25.2 ip, ERA 5.61 Estrada 4 games, 16.1 ip, ERA 12.68 Will Estrada turn it around? Maybe (can't get much worse at least)? Do the Jays have the luxury of carrying him hoping that he does?
closetjaysfan Verified Member Posted June 20, 2017 Posted June 20, 2017 After all these years I still dont understand how Gibbons fails to yank pitchers when their struggles are so obvious.
Spanky99 Old-Timey Member Posted June 20, 2017 Posted June 20, 2017 Wow, 6 walks in the last inning and a third.
Jonn Old-Timey Member Posted June 20, 2017 Posted June 20, 2017 After all these years I still dont understand how Gibbons fails to yank pitchers when their struggles are so obvious. He's terrified of using the entire bullpen. He would rather let guys struggle than risk running out of pitchers.
Effit Old-Timey Member Posted June 20, 2017 Posted June 20, 2017 Hard to win games when you walk the ballpark.
