Bobthe4th Old-Timey Member Posted May 21, 2017 Posted May 21, 2017 Holy s***! 12 k's for Estrada? Joint career high for him
Daniel Labude Jays Centre Contributor Posted May 21, 2017 Posted May 21, 2017 Showalter thinks that was intentional on machado lol? He just looked like an idiot coming out of the dugout lol
wk680 Verified Member Posted May 21, 2017 Posted May 21, 2017 I believe in Smith of course, but please don't ruin this for Estrada. So far so good, but 3 big outs to go. Would be nice to put a couple more runs up here.
bronson44 Verified Member Posted May 21, 2017 Posted May 21, 2017 jeez, we can't touch this Asher guy and they got him for nothing
Jonn Old-Timey Member Posted May 21, 2017 Posted May 21, 2017 Asher has never got swing and miss until he faced the Blue Jays.
Yippy Verified Member Posted May 21, 2017 Posted May 21, 2017 He just looked like an idiot coming out of the dugout lol Especially when he glared back at the pitcher. According to Showalter every time one of his players gets hit its intentional . But when Baltimore pitchers hit a batter its not
Yippy Verified Member Posted May 21, 2017 Posted May 21, 2017 I thought travis was going to throw that over smoaks head
Orgfiller Old-Timey Member Posted May 21, 2017 Posted May 21, 2017 Wasn't going to get him anyways, but that's some nice range shown. That's why you shouldn't judge Travis' defense on a few bobbles here and there.
THANOS Old-Timey Member Posted May 21, 2017 Posted May 21, 2017 So is Luke Maile the best game caller we've had?
Governator Community Moderator Posted May 21, 2017 Posted May 21, 2017 Estrada, more like that please! Travis, we never doubted you! http://i.imgur.com/YW5cUOU.gif
bronson44 Verified Member Posted May 21, 2017 Posted May 21, 2017 Good win. Could have swept this series
Daniel Labude Jays Centre Contributor Posted May 21, 2017 Posted May 21, 2017 Blue Jays Win!!!!!!!!!!! Osuna Matata!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Orgfiller Old-Timey Member Posted May 21, 2017 Posted May 21, 2017 So is Luke Maile the best game caller we've had? That's pretty hard to say. All I can say is Maile is outstanding behind the plate, it sucks that he's horrible offensively but with his defense and framing he might just be replacement level at least.
Pendleton Old-Timey Member Posted May 21, 2017 Posted May 21, 2017 Don't worry......Grille or Osuna will bloe this game. Well did ya learn anything?
bronson44 Verified Member Posted May 21, 2017 Posted May 21, 2017 Well did ya learn anything? I hope it was how to spell at the very least
THANOS Old-Timey Member Posted May 21, 2017 Posted May 21, 2017 That's pretty hard to say. All I can say is Maile is outstanding behind the plate, it sucks that he's horrible offensively but with his defense and framing he might just be replacement level at least. Very true. All I can say is, personally, I'll take his s***** offense if he's extracting double digit K performances from guys like Stro and Estrada. I've never seen Stro look this good in his entire MLB stint.
nextyear Verified Member Posted May 21, 2017 Posted May 21, 2017 It is good to see the win, but disappointing because I think they could have taken 2 out of 3 with better managing by Gibbons (poor suicide squeeze call) and better pitching in the first 2 games. I give Gibbons credit for today's game by putting Martin at 3rd base; maybe Gibbons can continue to find ways to get Martin in games without wearing him out behind the plate. Maile certainly is no ball of fire at the plate, but he is good defensively and can only get better at hitting (it is hard to imagine him getting worse).
Angrioter Old-Timey Member Posted May 21, 2017 Posted May 21, 2017 Maile is our Goins 2014 or Barney Cubs year.
nextyear Verified Member Posted May 21, 2017 Posted May 21, 2017 I think Maile is at least as good as Martin behind the plate; he seems to call a good game.
Gary Verified Member Posted May 21, 2017 Posted May 21, 2017 Maile is a stud behind the plate. Batting not so much...
Gary Verified Member Posted May 21, 2017 Posted May 21, 2017 What could we expect Maile's WAR to be this season?
Bobthe4th Old-Timey Member Posted May 21, 2017 Posted May 21, 2017 What could we expect Maile's WAR to be this season? WAR doesn't really accurately reflect a catcher's abilities behind the plate and Maile is already at -0.5 (almost as bad as Salty's -0.6) because he can't hit.
Arjun Nimmala Vancouver Canadians - A+ SS It's been slow going at the start of the season for Nimmala, but on Sunday, he was 3-for-5 with his 3rd home run and 3 RBI. Explore Arjun Nimmala News >
