Going into the season i thought Rowdy would be the first exciting called up..... I think this all confirms Pillar is dealt lol.

Nah, they've handled the situation well, no chance they trade Pillar because of this.

 

If Alford is OK he can replace Bautista next year. Obv a long way to go though.

Are you telling us something about Alford's sexual preferences? Most interesting Jays offensive call-up since Travis. I hope he gets regular AB's, as I'd like to see what he has. I remain sceptical though. Zeke a fake injury and to the DL or finally do they rid the big club of him?

Pearce is out, Ceciliani is out, Coghlan playing infield. Alford will play everyday or back to minors if he cant hit

I don't know why they would call him up and not give him ABs. It would be stunting his growth as a player having him sit on the bench.

You only use one option for the whole season. Alford was going to be up at some point anyway.

How long will he and DSJ be up for? Pillar returns tomorrow, and supposedly Tulo and JD are bound to return within the next week or so. Our bench is Coghlan, DSJ, Alford/Carrera and Ohlman. Ohlman will get sent down when Martin is back, Coghlan is probably gone when whichever of Tulo and JD returns first, DSJ when Pearce returns (when will this be?) or he's gone when KP returns tomorrow. Is Alford here longterm? Seems unlikely.

Not on the 40 vs. on the 40. They do have 1 other OF on the 40 though (Harold Ramirez). He already burned his option. They count from when he was added to the 40 man. So as soon as he spent 20 days down it was option 1 burned

I think Alford has to light it up to stay past Pearce's return...but there is a good chance the injured get re-injured anyway.
