Give what up...Bautista had an awful AB with the runner on 3rd...no sugar coating it. Made up for it by crushing the HR though

Barnes needs to be up with the big league team full time. Has been up to 95 MPH this inning. Not bad for a guy doesn't throw hard.

Are you not watching the game (lol)? You seriously don't need years of data to determine if a catcher is a decent framer. Just look at how he receives pitches, and from what i've seen so far, he's decent. Blocks the ball well also, good fundamentals all around defensively. Would like to see his arm on display though.

Blocks the ball well also, good fundamentals all around defensively. Would like to see his arm on display though.

Receiving over 120 pitches is a large enough sample. There's not a significant difference from one game to the next, he is what he is.

great catcher has not translated to good framing numbers in a pretty small sample in the majors.

Bautista just needs to lay off the breaking ball he gets every 3-2 count. He layed off it in that at-bat but he's been getting himself out on that pitch a lot.

Who is Barnes? He's a career reliever from our minors and deserves to be on any MLB BP. Maile is a defensive catcher from the Rays that I believe we picked up from waivers.
