FrozenRopes Verified Member Posted March 26, 2017 Posted March 26, 2017 Wong lost his job (or at least will need to share it) and he mentioned players from the Jays who 'needed time to figure it out'. Could he be a fit for the Jays. His contract is a little scary but the Cards could eat some of it. Travis hasn't proven he can stay healthy this far. http://www.sportingnews.com/mlb/news/kolten-wong-calls-out-cardinals-after-losing-starting-position/11wjxw08b7cgu1adz98rpvkma2
Laika Community Moderator Posted March 26, 2017 Posted March 26, 2017 Could he be a fit for the Jays. Nope, lateral move at 2B at best.
Gary Verified Member Posted March 26, 2017 Posted March 26, 2017 Jays should trade for him asap. Wong is good.
burlingtonbandit Old-Timey Member Posted March 26, 2017 Posted March 26, 2017 Can't see them making a trade for him. He wouldn't even be getting playing time here.

I love playing for the Cardinals. If that wasn't the reason, then I never would have signed that extension. I wanted to be here for the long term. I still want to." /end thread

Laika Community Moderator Posted March 26, 2017 Posted March 26, 2017 Take the ball cap off and he might as well be a guy who just got caught jerking off in the public library
Candy Maldonado Old-Timey Member Posted March 26, 2017 Posted March 26, 2017 too big of a tooth gap, do not want

But maybe they didn't and really does want to platoon/be a bench bat.

TBJ12 Verified Member Posted March 26, 2017 Posted March 26, 2017 Take the ball cap off and he might as well be a guy who just got caught jerking off in the public library That's bait if I've ever seen it.
keggy Verified Member Posted March 26, 2017 Posted March 26, 2017 If he's willing to play around the diamond, he's a highly valuable asset on a contending team. Excluding defense and baserunning, his bat alone is an immediate upgrade over garbage like Carerra and Smoak. (This says more about us than about Wong). If Travis has extended DL trips over the year, Wong becomes a crucial asset. If his price tag is cheap, he deserves our attention.
jays_fever Old-Timey Member Posted March 26, 2017 Posted March 26, 2017 Wong doesn't appear to be a true Cardinal
Gary Verified Member Posted March 26, 2017 Posted March 26, 2017 take the ball cap off and he might as well be a guy who just got caught jerking off in the public library wtf???
Jonn Old-Timey Member Posted March 26, 2017 Posted March 26, 2017 Wong doesn't appear to be a true Cardinal We can't all be Allen Craig.
RealAccountant Old-Timey Member Posted March 27, 2017 Posted March 27, 2017 Travis is better than Wong, but if Travis spends another year in and out of DL, we need to start questioning his sustainability
HERPDERP Old-Timey Member Posted March 27, 2017 Posted March 27, 2017 Kolten Wong can't hit. Do we really need him? He's probably a slightly better Barney
Angrioter Old-Timey Member Posted March 27, 2017 Posted March 27, 2017 Travis is better than Wong, but if Travis spends another year in and out of DL, we need to start questioning his sustainability Berti for 500K Trade Sanchez for Brendan Rodgers++
FrozenRopes Verified Member Posted March 27, 2017 Author Posted March 27, 2017 Travis is better than Wong, but if Travis spends another year in and out of DL, we need to start questioning his sustainability I agree, but those injuries are starting to add up, linger and cost the team Ws. Wong is better than anyone other than Travis that the Jays can run out there. Gyorko is a nice addition in STL.

I don’t want to be here wasting my time. I know what kind of player I am. If I don’t have the belief here, then I’ll go somewhere else.” haha, end thread, wtf...
Slade Old-Timey Member Posted March 27, 2017 Posted March 27, 2017 We really don't need another sub .700 OPS guy, if Travis is injured I'm sure Goins is going to be around.
