Also, i'm pretty upset that Daniel Murphy hasn't been given much playtime.

I haven't been following...Hos over Murphy at 1st? Hos should be at KC'S camp preparing for another replacement level season.

I think Murphy's only played 1 game so far. (Out of 4)

Yet guys like Kinsler/Hosmer/Jones have played every game, and Goldy has been DHing. Really dumb IMO.

The only plausible explanations are:

1. Leyland is dumb

2. Trying to avoid injuries (since Murphy had problems last year)

But still, guys like McCutchen/Posey/Murphy should be in the lineup as much as possible.

You don't really need to look further than this. The guy is a legend and well loved and all that but he's a bad strategic manager.

Well, before he got hurt, sure.

Smyley's career fastball velocity is 90.5 MPH with a peak of 91.6 in his rookie season (2012). Even when he was in the pen fulltime in 2013, his average fastball was 90.9. His velocity chart suggests he didn't throw one pitch at 95 MPH over the past 3 years - yet was throwing 95 on his 60th pitch at the WBC.

Has anyone heard or read about how he's throwing 94-95 MPH this year? He could be in line for a massive breakout if he can maintain that kind of velocity in Seattle with their OF defense.

Courtesy of Cyborg... seems like that gun was hot or just not updated yet.

I'm not far into the list, but either the guns are hot in the DBacks camp, or they have to be pleased to see Banda and Bradley throwing 2-3 MHP harder this spring!

Edit - Corbin and Robby Ray also throwing harder. Hot gun I'd assume. We really need to trade for Corbin though...C'mon Shatkins

The list isn't the greatest as it doesn't have every teams pitching staff, I believe it's a scout SS. Shelby Miller's the big shocker to me, also Minor and Godley.

I could be mistaken, but I believe Ray was averaging 95 in the second half last season.

It's Jeff Zimmerman (of Fangraphs fame).

Oh yes...couple more DBack pitchers. Either they discovered something major or their guns are hot. Not sure what that says for Zack Grienke though - as his velo is down 0.6 this spring. Ray was throwing 95 at the end of last year...he was just another DBack starter who's velo was up.

I'm torn on Mike Minor....always liked the guy and I'd love to root for him making a full comeback - but I hate KC, so screw him for now.

Didn't he just tweet yesterday that Giolito was throwing in the high 80's??? On this listing he has him as a plus(sorry a - 0.2) just 2 days ago? Is he drunk?

Fangraphs is clearly trolling our site and stealing my material!!!

we gonna call this another babip situation or are his pitches just so hittable

4 of the hits coming with 2 strikes says some of the blame is on him. He's leaving a lot of sliders up and is missing when Posey calls the high 4SM.
