Brownie19 Old-Timey Member Posted December 8, 2017 Posted December 8, 2017 Stanton, Trout and Upton would just be silly. Man I don't trust Justin Upton - never will. I think there's a solid chance he posts another wRC+ of 105 in 2018
Spanky__99 Old-Timey Member Posted December 8, 2017 Posted December 8, 2017 Yunior Severino signing with the Twins. Finalised? Thought he was going to the Yankees, good, sucks that we hadn't signed him. Edit: Whoa... 2.5 million, yeah we didn't have a chance.
z3r0s Old-Timey Member Posted December 9, 2017 Posted December 9, 2017 Wow, Stanton + Judge hitting b2b would be pretty f***ing wild

BTS Community Moderator Posted December 9, 2017 Posted December 9, 2017 Their 2019 core of Judge, Stanton, Sanchez, and Machado is going to be nuts!
jaysguy44 Old-Timey Member Posted December 9, 2017 Posted December 9, 2017 Any guesses on what the Yanks would give up for Stanton?
BTS Community Moderator Posted December 9, 2017 Posted December 9, 2017 Any guesses on what the Yanks would give up for Stanton? Clint Frazier almost has to be going. I'm assuming he'd be the biggest piece.

Orgfiller Old-Timey Member Posted December 9, 2017 Posted December 9, 2017 The Dodgers need to get in on this ASAP. They don't care about money anyway and can trade multiple top 75 prospects without a care in the world.
jays4life19 Old-Timey Member Posted December 9, 2017 Posted December 9, 2017 Any guesses on what the Yanks would give up for Stanton? I'll play. Clint Frazier Pablo Olivares Freicer Perez For Stanton + 45 million

They don't care about money anyway and can trade multiple top 75 prospects without a care in the world. They have a need too: just have to acknowledge that Gonzalez is done and move Bellinger to 1B. SS - Seager LF - Stanton 3B - Turner 1B - Bellinger RF - Puig 2B - Taylor C - Grandal/Barnes CF - Pederson/Toles That's not too bad

I guess they cares a little bit about money. Yankees are worst case scenario for us though and they are position to take the whole contract and will probably not need to give up top prospects. Miami just wants out of the contract at this point. That’s where the Yankees swoop in.
jaysguy44 Old-Timey Member Posted December 9, 2017 Posted December 9, 2017 Idk why people are losing it over the Yanks potentially acquiring Stanton. It's not like the Jays will be competing for the division within the next 3 years. They will be sending a package of legit prospects for him. If Shapiro rebuilds this team the right way, Stanton will be 34-35 years old when the time comes for us to compete. Hopefully out of his prime by then. Yanks farm system gets a whole lot weaker in the process.

Considering we have expensive veteran players and will be very much trying to compete in that window.

If Stanton is acquired by the Yanks, do you think that impacts the potential Shapiro/Atkins go into complete rebuild mode? (Donaldson traded)

glory Old-Timey Member Posted December 9, 2017 Posted December 9, 2017 If the Yankees include Ellsbury, they save about $68m while taking on $295m. It would probably be Ellsbury and prospects (not their best ones). I hope the Yankees do it only because Stanton will be a monster for a few more years but seems like the type who could fall off hard towards the middle/back end of that contract. Let the Yankees deal with that s***. The Jays won't be contenders for the rest of Stanton's elite seasons anyway, but might be when he starts to fall off.

(Donaldson traded) God, I hope so. Tell the two teams that just lost out on Stanton to pony up with their best offers. Hopefully, the Cards are desperate enough to include Reyes, Kelly, and O'Neil.

baseballsss Verified Member Posted December 9, 2017 Posted December 9, 2017 Apparently Stanton to NY is close to done As a baseball fan god damn thats going to be awesome to watch. As a Jays fan this sucks.
Orgfiller Old-Timey Member Posted December 9, 2017 Posted December 9, 2017 I know the MLBTR comments section is awful, but why is everyone getting downvoted to hell for being excited? If I were a Yankees fan I'd be pretty ecstatic that Judge-Stanton is going to be a thing. f***

Orgfiller Old-Timey Member Posted December 9, 2017 Posted December 9, 2017 Come on Dodgers, it's not too late to offer Verdugo+ filler. You can't even fit him into the team anyway!
