ST. LOUIS (AP) -- Police are investigating after a woman attending a St. Louis Cardinals baseball game at Busch Stadium was struck by a stray bullet.

 

Police say the 34-year-old victim was inside the ballpark Tuesday during the game against the Milwaukee Brewers when she felt pain in her arm. She went to a first-aid station for treatment. A bullet was later found near her seat.

 

Police believe the bullet came from outside the stadium.

The Cardinals said in a statement Wednesday that the organization is grateful no one was seriously injured. The statement says nothing is more important than the safety of fans.

Yeah I think if Sale wanted to retaliate for the O's hitting Betts, he should have thrown at someone else. Because of the recent history, Machado should have been left out of it this time (it's not like he is their only good hitter). Now with Machado's tirade, the feud continues at full steam. Also how does throwing at the 2016 MLB HR leader not send a message?

Farrell was a pitcher, so I guess his excuse is that he's always been on that side of the ball. Showalter was a position player so his only excuse is intelligence.

I don't think you can give such a harsh suspension for something that can NOT be PROVEN to be intentional. So what do you do when an apparent accidental beaning occurs and leads to serious injury as with the Fiers/Stanton incident? Not suspend him because you perceive no ill intent but suspend the guy where ill intent is perceived/suspected, but no actual injury even occurred?
