BTS Community Moderator Posted March 14, 2017 Posted March 14, 2017 Tom Murphy out long term with a fractured forum. If these injuries lead to Colorado finally trading Blackmon and cutting ties with Gonzalez, they'll be a blessing in disguise.

HERPDERP Old-Timey Member Posted March 15, 2017 Posted March 15, 2017 Guess we know what Pillar is going to ask for. But we all know he won't get that.. unless his ST shows he's a new player..

Kiermeier is better at everything than Pillar. Not substantially light years better, but better. Pillar is Kiermeier-lite. Also Pillar is over 1 year older. I dunno, 8.3 million isn't bad for a 4 WAR player, but in Pillar's case when it's 100% defense and no bat... I really don't think you need to lock him up long term. Defense doesn't drive arbitration paydays. Go year by year, pay him as little as possible and cut him loose when someone better comes along, which won't be long.

Buying out 2 free agent years alone will be worth much of that contract.

Sammy225 Old-Timey Member Posted March 15, 2017 Posted March 15, 2017 What's that? Leading off... I'd go with Bats again. If Pearce stays where he has been he could get on a lot for the like of JD Bats and Ken (Yes thats what i will call him). Either way works though
TheHurl Site Manager Posted March 15, 2017 Posted March 15, 2017 While the Kiermaier contract should be a huge value win, I thought it was a slight overpay (as Havok said, defense is paid poorly in arbitration). Still a great move locking down the most handsome man in baseball from a customer service point of view and considering they have no one other than Longoria and Archer locked up it gives the fans a little hope that they will spend.

Dr. Dinger Old-Timey Member Posted March 16, 2017 Posted March 16, 2017 Farrell names Porcello as opening day starter Well, he did win the Cy Young award. David Price is going to start the year on the DL and it would be pretty disloyal to just give that assignment to Chris Sale considering the year Porcello had.
G-Snarls Community Moderator Posted March 16, 2017 Posted March 16, 2017 Has Gibby announced his? I'd go with Sanchez but not a big deal among any of the top 4

Traveling at 65 MPH From the official report: “Fernández operated [the boat] with his normal faculties impaired, in a reckless manner, at an extremely high rate, in the darkness of night, in an area with known navigational hazards such as rock jetties and channel markers.” "Fernández’s blood alcohol content was .147, and he had trace amounts of cocaine in his system. Had he survived, he could have been prosecuted for boating-under-the-influence manslaughter and vessel homicide."
