Jonn Old-Timey Member Posted February 28, 2017 Posted February 28, 2017 Lol how does a former NFL quarterback (albeit a s***** one) have a below average throwing arm? He wasn't a very good QB. He had that miracle run with his short throws and running game. But he could never throw the Ball down the field.

G-Snarls Community Moderator Posted February 28, 2017 Posted February 28, 2017 A HOF career cut short due to injuries. Sad. He was a gem and the face of the Mets. He might never play again at this rate
TheHurl Site Manager Posted February 28, 2017 Posted February 28, 2017 What's in worse shape...Petco right now or the Padres team.

Boxcar Old-Timey Member Posted February 28, 2017 Posted February 28, 2017 Wow! Lol just when you thought the NCAA couldn't be a bigger joke
John_Havok Old-Timey Member Posted February 28, 2017 Posted February 28, 2017 Listening to Jamie Campbell on PTS right now, apparantly the secret to every bench player being good is just giving them more at bats. His evidence? Cuz Smoak had a good couple of series last year when he got to play for 2 weeks straight as a starter. Ding... f***ing ..... ding

Ding... f***ing ..... ding PTS has really gone downhill the last year so, Bobcat has packed it in. They should just simulcast Tim & Sid, Sick of Damien Cox faking that he knows anything about sports anymore. Talking about Terrance Ross like he knows anything.

Dr. Dinger Old-Timey Member Posted March 1, 2017 Posted March 1, 2017 Sick of Damien Cox faking that he knows anything about sports anymore. Same applies to McCown himself. Cox only ever knew hockey, and Bob knew baseball 30 years ago. Other than that they don't know jack s***.
Krylian Old-Timey Member Posted March 1, 2017 Posted March 1, 2017 Same applies to McCown himself. Cox only ever knew hockey, and Bob knew baseball 30 years ago. Other than that they don't know jack s***. Bob knows business, and he knows old skool baseball...plus horse racing and boxing. But I find him entertaining enough. I don't really listen to him for breaking news or anything analytical. If you're looking for Fangraphs type stuff...that's not his strength.
Pendleton Old-Timey Member Posted March 1, 2017 Posted March 1, 2017 Twins recent first rounder Alex Kirilloff will miss the season to undergo TJS.

Other than that they don't know jack s***. Bob's strength is that he's one of the only ones on the radio in the city left that can pull high profile sports guests on his show. I don't ever tune in to hear him ramble but to see who he has coming in as a guest
Orgfiller Old-Timey Member Posted March 1, 2017 Posted March 1, 2017 I still say the team Only one of these things will be back to good shape in a week.
G-Snarls Community Moderator Posted March 1, 2017 Posted March 1, 2017 Can David Wright still hit? Mets have a hole at 1B anyway...
TheHurl Site Manager Posted March 1, 2017 Posted March 1, 2017 Wow! My first reaction was wow. But then when you see the document they are handed...it's pretty obvious and it says "no fantasy sports gambling of any kind". There is a quick list card of common violations that all scholarship athletes are given. My friend's son has just accepted a golf scholarship to Drexel and he has to delete/deactivate his Youtube accounts too, as it would be too easy to get around rules by getting boosters to support them through youtube hits. I hate that the NCAA is cut and dry about their rules no matter what the investigation comes up with but now think of it this way...it may have been a $100K buy in fantasy pool where boosters are throwing it. The best thing they can do is start paying kids but the tiered system created would probably ruin certain schools.
Laika Community Moderator Posted March 1, 2017 Posted March 1, 2017 Can David Wright still hit? Mets have a hole at 1B anyway... Maybe for a month or two, in between lengthy DL stints? His chronic condition makes any highly athletic movement risky. Running, sprinting, sliding, repeated swinging will all break him down in a matter of weeks/months, even if he is at DH.
RealAccountant Old-Timey Member Posted March 1, 2017 Posted March 1, 2017 I think we are beyond the point of the FAN590 being any good. Really says a lot about the situation when Andrew Walker is quite possibly the only one I can bear to listen to. Historically we always had great 1-4PM hosts and that the Bobcat was beyond his peak but would still be interesting. Now him, Cox, Shannon, Madani are a bunch of old man at the gym complaining about life. I literally have to turn the drivell on even when they are discussing baseball. Mccowan has lost it. Now he says that Aaron Sanchez is going to be better than Roy f***ing Halladay. Are you kidding me, TSN radio >>>> Fan590 now.
