Aaron Hill was really f***ing good.

 

Shame his Blue Jays career ended on the worst string of bad BABIP luck in MLB history.

 

To some extent that was his fault, he decided to become a dead pull hitter. It worked out really really well and then it stopped working.

I just listened to a podcast in which fangraphs lead prospect analyst Eric Longenhagen expressed serious concern about Jose De Leon's HR rate in his 17 MLB innings last year.

 

I do not like him at all tbh. I miss the last guy.

Guess what?!?!? Goose Gossage is back this spring training and his agenda for things to run down this year:

 

1. Run down one of the greatest relievers in the game (Mariano)

 

2. Running Down Replay (looses character)

 

3. Sabremetrics are for people who don't know baseball.

To be fair the part where he says if Mo was brought into games earlier he would have been better utilized isn't wrong.

I hate Rich Gossage. He makes a bunch of assumptions on 1 inning, 3 run league saves that both he and Mo recorded....then tells the guy interviewing him to go look it up because he obviously made the statement without having any idea what the facts were. I have no time for people like that.

The thing that annoys me most is where he claims that managers shouting and swearing at umpires is "character of the game" and therefore good. But Bautista celebrating the biggest moment of his career is a bad thing.

Yes and to be fair any stat you look at has Mo being superior to Goose (FIP, ERA, WAR, K/9, BB/9) But Gossage said those stats where s*** and i don't know baseball lol

Reliever Dellin Betances has lost his arbitration hearing to the Yankees, Fan Rag’s Jon Heyman writes (Twitter links). Betances will receive $3MM next season rather than the $5MM he had been seeking.

He absolutely should. The use of him has been gross. Giradi has abused him. He may never make it to free agency anything close to the same pitcher.

What a whiner. Let's not be over dramatic. He's a 28 year old that is 6ft 8 260 lbs. He has thrown 254 career MLB innings with his workload DECREASING every season. 90 84 73. And that's after being a starter in the minors.

 

He had one more appearance than osuna last year and one less ip ( not counting osuna 9 ip in postseason). And osuna is 21 with a TJ surgery under his belt)

 

He should have asked for 4m and maybe he would have won.
