Canadian Brooke Henderson just Aced the 9th in the Open...

I've aced a few holes in my day. Not sure it belongs in the Golf Thread though.

I meant to ask you sooner, how's Britain with Georgie's win?

I had no idea what you were talking about for a while until it clicked! Was trying to work out which player's nickname was Georgie haha. Women's golf gets very little coverage here because the majors don't overlap with the men's like in tennis.

The only time you really see Brits celebrating British success in minor sports is the Olympics and the women's draw at Wimbledon. Our sporting coverage is dominated by the major popular sports. At the moment it's mainly the football (it's transfer deadline today!) and a bit of the cricket as England are in a Test series with India.

The EPL season starts tomorrow, that might help interest locally

Amazing job by Henderson over the weekend winning the Canadian Open, respect, she dominated... arguably the best Canadian Golfer ever, imo. And she's only 20.

Looking forward to some exciting golf action this weekend. I wish I had tomorrow off work to watch.

Tiger's locked in.

This mornings matches were funtastic!

Great start for the US - can they win in Europe for the first time in 25 years? Europe leading 3-1 early in the afternoon matches so hopefully it'll end up as a close one.

I'm hoping it stays close, and goes down to the wire in singles play on Sunday. Europe's kicking ass this afternoon thus far.

Yeah looking like a clean sweep in the afternoon matches.

The US will have to load their better players up front tomorrow - if Europe get a few early leads then it's basically over. Still can go either way though!

Do the winners advance to play Canada in the championship??

Not looking good for the Red, White and Blue. Like Bob said, need to load up on the better players and there is no margin for error anymore. Won't exactly take a miracle but they are going to have to play really really well.
