Just saw a tweet mention that the Jays wouldn't do a Stroman for Blackmon deal straight up...seems like we want more than Blackman. What else could they add for it to work?

Most teams probably asked for names like Sanchez, Stroman or Travis when it came to talks on guys like Sale, Eaton, Blackmon and others.

Maybe not...but that completely guts your system for 2-3 seasons and making any other trades almost impossible.

I would have lol. I get what you're saying, but I don't think Atkins/Shapiro would want any of that. With them, we may actually see the likes of those players become major leaguers with us, for a change.

That's definitely worse than the Sale package and probably worse than the Eaton package to someone who sees Giolito as a star.

I wouldn't have done that trade myself just saying they "have" the prospects to make a deal, even though no GM is going to offer the amount of prospects it would take as it kills your system.

Yeah you can't just throw in a bunch of Top 100 prospects add it all up and expect it to beat a package that includes a Top 3 prospect.

His agent goofed up, screwed his client and us Blue Jay fans over. We would have EE and Pearce instead of Morales and Pearce and still likely going after Fowler too.

Pipe dream but If we could sign Jose and Fowler at the right price that would be good too.

Just curious has Adam Eaton ever been in a legit trade rumour? This is the only place I hear his name. Don't understand why they would trade him unless they get blown away so I don't even understand why he would be a target. He would certainly be nice to have though!

It is kind of odd. A few weeks back most of us scoffed at the jays offer of 4/80. We thought it was fair but nowhere near good enough to match a few other teams.
