fatcowxlive Old-Timey Member Posted October 20, 2016 Posted October 20, 2016 IT HAS ARRIVED! Thank you BTS
BTS Community Moderator Posted October 20, 2016 Author Posted October 20, 2016 There's so much work to be done. This is going to be a crazy offseason.
G-Snarls Community Moderator Posted October 20, 2016 Posted October 20, 2016 Are we sure Stroman will he a Super 2?
fatcowxlive Old-Timey Member Posted October 20, 2016 Posted October 20, 2016 Re-sign Edwin He's gonna be costly, not sure if I'd want to be on the hook for so long with the 2018 FA class looking so promising. Lock down JD and look to bring back Jose on a one year deal IF he's going to be a fulltime 1B or DH I gotta think Reddick is gonna be a Jay, especially given no pick is attached
fatcowxlive Old-Timey Member Posted October 20, 2016 Posted October 20, 2016 There's so much work to be done. This is going to be a crazy offseason. Right? We need to rebuild the bullpen, we need a huge bat, we need a couple of outfielders and a first baseman. We also need a backup catcher. At least the rotation will be intact. Will Biagini be a starter though?
glory Old-Timey Member Posted October 20, 2016 Posted October 20, 2016 The off-season is going to be nuts. Last winter, the Jays just needed some depth to surround whatever was left of the 2015 team. This winter they will need to do some very heavy lifting. Should be fun.
G-Snarls Community Moderator Posted October 20, 2016 Posted October 20, 2016 I forgot that Donaldson's 2 year deal included such a raise for 2017
BTS Community Moderator Posted October 20, 2016 Author Posted October 20, 2016 If the team could find a way to eliminate Justin Smoak from the roster without eating cash, that would be fantastic. He's terrible.

glory Old-Timey Member Posted October 20, 2016 Posted October 20, 2016 Well they needed 2 starting pitchers last off season I know one was found in house but still... True, they didn't have much of a rotation at this time last year, so it was more than just depth pick ups, but this winter will require more.
glory Old-Timey Member Posted October 20, 2016 Posted October 20, 2016 If the team could find a way to eliminate Justin Smoak from the roster without eating cash, that would be fantastic. He's terrible. Call up Billy Beane ASAP.
G-Snarls Community Moderator Posted October 20, 2016 Posted October 20, 2016 They had Dickey and Stroman set for the rotation actually - that was *IT*
Orgfiller Old-Timey Member Posted October 20, 2016 Posted October 20, 2016 Nice spelling of Joaquin Benoit you got going there.
BTS Community Moderator Posted October 20, 2016 Author Posted October 20, 2016 Nice spelling of Joaquin Benoit you got going there. lick me where I fart
RealAccountant Old-Timey Member Posted October 20, 2016 Posted October 20, 2016 Where do we figure opening day payroll comes in 150 Mil max? What was it in 2016?
G-Snarls Community Moderator Posted October 20, 2016 Posted October 20, 2016 Where do we figure opening day payroll comes in 150 Mil max? What was it in 2016? Higher Based on what Shapiro said last week sounds like potentially in the 170-180 range
RealAccountant Old-Timey Member Posted October 20, 2016 Posted October 20, 2016 I have my doubts I don't think it will be 170 I think pretty much you can't have EE and Bautista anymore anyways even at 180 there is so much to do
closetjaysfan Verified Member Posted October 20, 2016 Posted October 20, 2016 I'm sure this has its own thread but I cant see resigning Dickie. If he doesnt retire I will be surprised. The big argument in the past for keeping him is that he eats a lot of innings. Well this year with 169 innings, he ranks last on the team. And now we have Liriano. I really hope the Budget is well in excess of 140 mil. Less than that and things will have to get really creative.
King Old-Timey Member Posted October 20, 2016 Posted October 20, 2016 Wtf why the early release. I missed it

Either way I wish him all the best, he seems like an awesome human being.
RealAccountant Old-Timey Member Posted October 20, 2016 Posted October 20, 2016 Would it be a screwed move to stretch Biagini and trade Estrada or Happ for a young outfielder
Terminator Old-Timey Member Posted October 20, 2016 Posted October 20, 2016 Here's my offseason shitpost. Feel free to destroy it. Sign Gomez (LF), Fowler (RF), Pearce (1B) and Alvarez (DH). Offense shouldn't drop off much but the fielding would be very, very good. I have no idea who to get for backup C but we need one. Fill out the bullpen on the cheap and reinforce at the deadline if needed. Get picks for EE and Bautista.
Dick_Pole Old-Timey Member Posted October 20, 2016 Posted October 20, 2016 There's so much work to be done. This is going to be a crazy offseason. Lots of work but also lots of opportunity and probably lots of fun for the Jays FO as builders and us as fans. ~$50M for your entire starting rotation and three best relievers. That's an almost criminal head start for a team with a budget in the mid-$100's.
jays4life19 Old-Timey Member Posted October 20, 2016 Posted October 20, 2016 Sign Dexter Fowler for RF, Steve Pearce for 1B. QO Edwin and Bats and take the picks. Let Saunders walk. Use a Zeke/Melvin as a cheap Platoon for LF.
BTS Community Moderator Posted October 20, 2016 Author Posted October 20, 2016 Yeah, Dexter Fowler would be a perfect signing. I really have no idea what he signs for this offseason.
KingKat Old-Timey Member Posted October 20, 2016 Posted October 20, 2016 Anyone like Beltran? I like that his term is likely to be bery short. Flipside of that is that he's 200 years old.
jays4life19 Old-Timey Member Posted October 20, 2016 Posted October 20, 2016 Yeah, Dexter Fowler would be a perfect signing. I really have no idea what he signs for this offseason. 4 years, 72 million would be my guess.
