Fans in the stadium have no clue what's going on. All they see is a starting pitcher coming out of the game after 2 outs. Even if they knew he had a finger issue going into the game, there's no way they know how bad it is / gross it looks. US broadcast are idiots for feeding the theory that the fans are cheering with full knowledge of how bad that injury is.
