THANOS Old-Timey Member Posted October 15, 2016 Posted October 15, 2016 Incredibly confident about today's game! We have reason to be, unless the offense collapses from all logic.
RealAccountant Old-Timey Member Posted October 15, 2016 Posted October 15, 2016 I don't think I can listen to the clowns anymore
burlingtonbandit Old-Timey Member Posted October 15, 2016 Posted October 15, 2016 I hope you're wrong. There's no reason why we can smash Hamels and Darvish but can't smash Tomlin. Well the reason is baseball. This is how the game is sometimes.
TorontonianJD Verified Member Posted October 15, 2016 Posted October 15, 2016 I know the players said the days off would be good for their health etc but they were on a hot streak so hopefully the days of don't put them in a slump.

candymartinez Verified Member Posted October 15, 2016 Posted October 15, 2016 playoff baseball is tough on the liver! Sure is. I really can't watch any these games without drinking.
Kenny Lofton Verified Member Posted October 15, 2016 Posted October 15, 2016 I am pretty worried about Tomlin against your lineup. He is either on or he is off, but he is a gamer. He will dig in and pitch well with RISP, but after awhile you have to know the BJ's bats are going to send mistakes into the bleachers. Boston was not hitting Kluber as hard as you guys were those first few innings and you could tell by the sound of the bat hitting the ball that guys were ready to smash. Tomlin isn't a Kluber by any means, and the reason Carrasco, Salazar and Bauer were considered stronger options was because quite frankly they are. Tomlin is behind all 4 of them in K's, HR allowed, & WAR. He doesn't walk a lot of people, but that is countered by his 36 HR's allowed (2nd in the AL.) So yeah, I am pretty glad I will be distracted with a kitchen remodel while watching this game, because I don't have any illusions that the BJ's are not a bounce back team. (I have the Ohio State vs. Wisconsin after the ALCS, and if the Buckeyes lose it's all good - I am sure the Browns will cheer me up with a win tomorrow. LOL.)

King Old-Timey Member Posted October 15, 2016 Posted October 15, 2016 Tomlin sucks. A couple good games to end the season, but his general body of work is awful. Doesn't strikeout much, gives up a lot of HRs & high SLG%, s*** against righties, worst at home. Half his games his FIP was over 5. He wouldn't even make the Jays 40 man roster. Don't tell Boxy.
BlueJayWay Verified Member Posted October 15, 2016 Posted October 15, 2016 Tulo's hitting ahead of Martin today.

Grant77 Old-Timey Member Posted October 15, 2016 Posted October 15, 2016 What makes you think it was him? Seriously. Everyone knows that all good decisions are Shatkins and all bad decisions are Gibbons. How else would we get a scapegoat?

canadiansportsjunkie Verified Member Posted October 15, 2016 Posted October 15, 2016 His exact words glossing over the question last night lol. well I assume he prefers Martin ahead of Tulo...he never changed it cause we were winning and i agree with that...but maybe now he knows he doesn't have much of a choice due to numbers. Anyways I just don't agree with blaming Gibbons for EVERYTHING

Jonn Old-Timey Member Posted October 15, 2016 Posted October 15, 2016 Gotta win today. Heading back home with a split will have us all feeling good again.

West Texas Forever Old-Timey Member Posted October 15, 2016 Posted October 15, 2016 Tomlin has a really good cut fastball, other than that I don't see how the Jays don't win this game, hopefully they can strike early and often in the game and bring it back to Toronto tied up.
