The longer he goes without a big hit, the lower the tolerance level for Bautista's "s***" becomes. This has been the pattern for several years now. He's had a tremendous Blue Jays career. Arguably the greatest hitter in franchise history. Can we not just take the good with the bad?

They're getting pretty cocky about it

Serves us right, honestly I'd usually back Bautista for his comments, but after the piss poor performance 8/9 of our batters have given us the first 2 games no one should be pointing the fingers at anyone but themselves. I don't know how JD is the only one making things happen with no leg and no hip lol he's the only one capable of adjusting, very majestic swing

Ontario Superior Court judge to determine before game 3 of ALCS if Indians name and logo should be banned from broadcast and team uniforms:

this is a little much. I get some people find it offensive but do this in the offseason or something. Just makes us look like we're complaining about more s***

Agree 100 percent

We live in a society that strives to be free of bias. Why should native Americans see a team name that is offensive to them. We would not call a team the N Word or the P word or the C word

The right thing this is

Well this is awkward. A lot of people are going to get upset if the injunction passes. My guess is that it won't because this is not a matter that needs to be dealt with so urgently. The logo has been on TV before, today's not going to make a difference.

The unfortunate thing is that it never had to come to this. They could have phased out Wahoo years ago and I can't really think of any good reason why they didn't. Logos come and go all the time. Why this one in particular has perdured as much as it has is kind of baffling. Shapiro deserves some blame on this.

This is f***ing stupid. Yet they allow Redskins and Eskimos logo and names to be said which are much more derogatory names.

"sucks" = 2 bad games. He was amazing in the ALDS/Wildcard.

He hit a homerun when the game was already out of hand and has been average to below average ever since. On its own I can forgive that because of who he is, but he should keep his giant mouth shut. He's not as smart as he thinks he is and he's embarrassing himself and the team with his whining.

I remember when my hometown got a Frontier team a few years back and the backlash the city had over the name.

I get that times have changed and these names should probably be dealt with but it's funny how Ontario likes to stick their noses into these things as opposed to a place like California, New York, etc. Let's all remember, it's just a sports team name. There are much larger issues at hand, imo.

Actually I hope the judge does ban Chief Wahoo. The Indians have lived an "us against the world" mentality all season long, with chips on their shoulders, and this will only exacerbate that more. I like Mark Shapiro and good luck to him with Toronto, but his statements the other day about Chief Wahoo seem a day late/dollar short.

I get the issue with the logo and I am perfectly fine with being done with it. My high school had a Rebel Flag (Confederate) for 55 years until it had to be retired due to our school's football team improving to the point that we needed to travel to play teams with high black populations. I thought it was the right thing to do and my thoughts were that it should never be my (our) right to tell someone not to be offended with something so explosive and negative. I feel the same way about Chief Wahoo.

BUT, to determine a ban in the middle of the ALCS is nothing more than a publicity stunt and a distraction, with surely political reasoning behind it. Did we NOT play in Toronto this season already?

Anyway it makes no difference to me. I don't buy or own gear with Chief Wahoo nor am I in the vocal majority who want to keep it. But my guess is the judge isn't going to issue the ban for the ALCS, if he does the Indians will fight him in court, and in the end baseball will be played.

It is a ticky-tack stunt that makes the city look like lame.

How so? I thought he made a fair point. He was personally against it, but the Cleveland fanbase was overwhelmingly in favour of Chief Wahoo. He couldn't just outright remove it unilaterally, so he brought the block C logo into use as an alternative. I'm not sure what else he really could have done without infuriating a fanbase that already has very poor attendance (no offense).

Fair enough. His comments seemed unnecessary to me, that it was now "safe" to say something on a big stage like this when in reality he didn't have the stones to say something when he was here. Not too many people were wrapped around the axle last week when he said it so it really isn't a big deal. Mark was respected in Cleveland. The timing and the words he chose were - awkward.

À propos of nothing... Kenny Lofton was a great and underrated player. Still a 3 WAR player at 40 years old in his last season but nobody wanted to pay him like a 3 Win player anymore and he retired.
