jays4life19 Old-Timey Member Posted October 7, 2016 Posted October 7, 2016 Took the day off work for all of these. As a baseball fan these match ups are awesome. Lucky. I don't have that luxury...and i can't call in sick because my boss knows how much i love baseball and that would just be awkward on Monday. I have a big screen tv by my desk though and my employer plays all the games, so it could be worse.
LGBJ29 Verified Member Posted October 7, 2016 Posted October 7, 2016 Well nobody's saying Zeke's better than Travis. Travis of course IS a much better hitter. I wouldn't suggest flipping them in regular season. But in playoffs you need to play hot hands (bats). His ABs didn't matter yesterday in a blowout, but might have a more (negatif) impact in a close game. That being said, I know he's a good player and hope he has better ABs todays. I definitely understand what you're saying, but it's still 2 games. You have to think about who's going to give you the better AB's going forward, and thats likely going to be Travis. Now if his struggles start to hit 5+ games, then I'd be more ok with a shuffle.
Rusty_Savage Verified Member Posted October 7, 2016 Posted October 7, 2016 I cant wait! 13 hours of ball I'm going to watch lol. My wife is thrilled. I'm in the same boat. I love playoff baseball!
Floortom Verified Member Posted October 7, 2016 Posted October 7, 2016 Martin should probably be moved to #8 or #9. He had two good months and has been terrible at the plate otherwise.
brb321 Verified Member Posted October 7, 2016 Posted October 7, 2016 What a fantastic day for baseball. Jays playoffs followed by Price vs Kluber, Kershaw vs Scherzer, and Lester vs Cueto. Epic. The last 3 games will feel better with another Jays win this afternoon...
Dr. Dinger Old-Timey Member Posted October 7, 2016 Posted October 7, 2016 It's a bit curious that the Rangers have been platooning Mazara for the last few months, then in the playoffs they bench him against a righty and start him against Happ.
RealAccountant Old-Timey Member Posted October 7, 2016 Posted October 7, 2016 Do you guys remember all the playoffs we used to watch without the Jays. I remember I used to Watch and hope the Twins would beat the Yankees a few years back, The Astros when they had Oswalt and Clemens, the Tigers runs a few years back. I never imagined we would ever be a part of it again. It feels so different from the inside.

I have to put Gameday on my secondary monitor and even that would probably get some frowns if exposed to the wrong people.
RealAccountant Old-Timey Member Posted October 7, 2016 Posted October 7, 2016 I am starting to get nervous now. We have never done well against Darvish, If he does well here we are likely to see him in Game 5. Think Hamels is done for the series.

Aha i don't want to post it on the main forum. But yeah, big events like Olympics, World Cup, Jays Playoffs ect they always show the gamess all through out the office. I guess they don't want everyone calling in sick.
Dr. Dinger Old-Timey Member Posted October 7, 2016 Posted October 7, 2016 Travis scratched; Zeke to lead off.
Effit Old-Timey Member Posted October 7, 2016 Posted October 7, 2016 Hey Blue Jays, I don't wanna come back down from this cloud. Let's pick up where we left off yesterday. Go Jays.
HERPDERP Old-Timey Member Posted October 7, 2016 Posted October 7, 2016 Right knee irritation? What the hell did he do to get that? Travis is quickly developing the injury prone moniker
baconpancakes Verified Member Posted October 7, 2016 Posted October 7, 2016 Travis scratched; Zeke to lead off. and Barney ninth.
fatcowxlive Old-Timey Member Posted October 7, 2016 Posted October 7, 2016 Travis scratched; Zeke to lead off. Honestly we really don't have any more realistic options. No way we see Bautista lead off with the way he's been swinging
TBJ12 Verified Member Posted October 7, 2016 Posted October 7, 2016 Anyone know where I can find an audio only stream? I'm not looking to purchase MLB.tv for a single afternoon game.
Sammy225 Old-Timey Member Posted October 7, 2016 Posted October 7, 2016 Just got to hope Zeke does not slow down yet.
Omar Old-Timey Member Posted October 7, 2016 Posted October 7, 2016 Travis scratched; Zeke to lead off. Travis is turning into Mr Glass.......this china doll really starting to piss me off.
Dr. Dinger Old-Timey Member Posted October 7, 2016 Posted October 7, 2016 No way we see Bautista lead off with the way he's been swinging Yeah, why would we want to give our hottest hitter the most plate appearances? That wouldn't make any sense at all.
BigBulgeBlueBird Verified Member Posted October 7, 2016 Posted October 7, 2016 Travis is a big loss despite his recent struggles, although Barney does seem to step up well when we need him. Hoping the bats don't get stifled by Darvish, make him work at the very least.

HERPDERP Old-Timey Member Posted October 7, 2016 Posted October 7, 2016 Blame Kevin Gray if the Blue Jays lose this one. thats a familiar name again. what did he do again? Was he the one that said the Jays signed Darvish?
43211234 Verified Member Posted October 7, 2016 Posted October 7, 2016 thats a familiar name again. what did he do again? Was he the one that said the Jays signed Darvish? Yeah. Well, he said they won the bidding.

Hoping the bats don't get stifled by Darvish, make him work at the very least. I don't think the Jays lose much at all in the short term but the bench options are non existent after Barney. You're looking at scenarios like Martin to 2B or Bautista to 3B.
Jonn Old-Timey Member Posted October 7, 2016 Posted October 7, 2016 Zeke back in the leadoff spot... smh. Just move everyone up a spot
RealAccountant Old-Timey Member Posted October 7, 2016 Posted October 7, 2016 Barney will have to do I mean all he has is a gold glove at 2nd
Daniel Labude Jays Centre Contributor Posted October 7, 2016 Posted October 7, 2016 Right knee irritation? What the hell did he do to get that? Travis is quickly developing the injury prone moniker Lol, with the 1 win in the books it's best to rest him and let Barney play. Make sure he is healthy going forward.
Pendleton Old-Timey Member Posted October 7, 2016 Posted October 7, 2016 Tulo desperately needs to be flipped with Martin Meh after a 10 run performance there shouldn't be any desperation to make changes.
Jonn Old-Timey Member Posted October 7, 2016 Posted October 7, 2016 Raining in Texas lol. Donaldson really did a number on them.
