Here are the lines my sportbook is giving me for the AL Pennant and World Series winners.

Lines for the AL Pennant:

Boston Red Sox +150

Cleveland Indians +325

Texas Rangers +200

Toronto Blue Jays +300

Lines for the World Series:

Boston Red Sox +500

Chicago Cubs +200

Cleveland Indians +800

Los Angeles Dodgers +650

New York Mets +1600

San Francisco Giants +1800

Texas Rangers +650

Toronto Blue Jays +600

Washington Nationals +800

The Jays are getting a surprising amount of respect with the third best odds for winning the World Series, just behind Chicago and Boston. Especially relative to the AL Pennant winners. What I find interesting is that Texas increases from +200 to +650 and Boston increases from +150 to +500 when going from AL Pennant to World Series winners, but the Jays only increase from +300 to +600. I guess the betting community thinks the Jays match up well to the Cubs? Or maybe it's just an arbitrage opportunity that will correct itself with time.

There's no way Texas should be anything other than rock bottom.

I'm waiting for the lines to be released on the Jays-Rangers series. If the Jays are the underdogs I'm all over that s***.

why would the be the underdogs if the Jays are rated higher to win the pennant and WS?

Texas is rated higher to win the pennant, from those lines.

I think on most sites yesterday the Jays were heavily the underdogs.

Yesterday doesn't mean much. The team had to get through the Orioles first.

Probably because we had to play the wildcard while others do not.

Now that's out of the way, things are slightly more even.

It's pretty shocking how Texas can have such a good record, especially at home, with that abysmal run differential
