No one is going to care about that bat flip in 2020 if there are no playoff appearances in 2016, 17, 18, and 19.

 

That's the thing about short term moves. If it works, then great. If it doesn't, then you have the current Jays. A team with one more good left in them (2016) and then a s*** show afterwards.

Machado's 2 years from free agency and their ownership isn't going to spend to keep Trumbo and Wieters, and may actually have to deal Tillman and/or Britton due to their escalating salaries and that awful Chris Davis deal.. and that team has imploded itself, struggling to hold off the Yanks (1 game up now) and tied with the Tigers. And with a poor farm system, the future is bleak for the O's... and after 2017 could get really ugly (Tillman's a free agent, as is Hardy, Miley and Gallardo..)
