James.d.harrison Verified Member Posted September 7, 2016 Posted September 7, 2016 (edited) the whole team is extremely boring to watch because of the offense compared to last year, Its been a long while since we scored alot of runs and kept it up. Pitching and defense wins Worlds series's and we have some of the best pitching and defense in the league. As an added bonus we have guys that are willing to sacrifice their body and run through walls.. and we can even still hit a bit. All the recipes and formula for a winning team and more. If we dont win the world series I will be pointing the finger at Dickey, Cecil,Thole who are absolutely brutal. I was one of the first people to give Shapiro a chance when AA left and they blasted Shapiro in the media and were shocked at the loss of AA. But i will be blaming Shapiro and Atkins for tolerating the mediocrity of Dickey,Thole, Cecil and Gibbons for an ENTIRE season as well if we don't win it all. We have more assets on this team than just some of the best pitching and defense and we should win it all folks.. if not.. Edited September 7, 2016 by James.d.harrison

Harrison Just wanted to let you know that Dickey, Thole, Cecil and Gibbons are all products of AA and not Shapiro. I don't get how you're sad that AA left but criticize Shapiro for *not* cleaning up what sounds like AA's mess. Anyways welcome to the board! Edited September 7, 2016 by fatcowxlive forgot the not
BigBulgeBlueBird Verified Member Posted September 7, 2016 Posted September 7, 2016 Here's the thing... Even if this offense plays like it is capable, the defense plays solid like we know they can, and the rotation starts pitching at their normal levels again. Our bullpen just isn't deep enough, or good enough to navigate through the post-season imo. I hope I am wrong, but I just can't see it happening unless we're consistently getting 7-8 innings out of the starters.
ChrisS Verified Member Posted September 7, 2016 Posted September 7, 2016 lol your going to blame those guys if we dont win it all? Give me a break. Yes this team hasnt performed up to the expectation of last year but they are still what, 3rd in the league in runs scored. Making the playoffs let alone winning the world series isnt easy, even if you have the best team, especially in the AL East.. thats baseball. Some of those guys havent played well but what did you want the FO to do? Its not easy to just go out and acquire good players and unload them... The FO has done a decent job

James.d.harrison Verified Member Posted September 7, 2016 Author Posted September 7, 2016 not shocked that AA left, i said i was one of the first to give Shapiro a chance when people were shocked that AA left ;P and were blasting shapiro in the media before 1 game was played. im pointing out that this team has more than what it takes to win it all, so those are the people i will be blaming if we dont after the baseball gods of course

In the playoffs there are more off days. Osuna will be able to pitch damn near every game if we need him too. Biagini, Grilli, Benoit, etc. should be able to do enough too.
James.d.harrison Verified Member Posted September 7, 2016 Author Posted September 7, 2016 Cubs tho so.. Jays vs Cubbies then amirite ? red white and blue times two

Cecil is getting it together and is going to help us big time down the stretch and in the post season.
