Daniel Labude Jays Centre Contributor Posted September 8, 2016 Posted September 8, 2016 I get that you're frustrated with the offense but you're reaching for an answer that's just not there. This is similar to people carping for Jesus Montero. Their is no saviour. It's up to these guys to turn it around. That's the best and only shot. I get that it might not actually help but it won't hurt to give him a start imo. Maybe we can get lucky and he hits like he was suppose to last year.
thatoneguy Old-Timey Member Posted September 8, 2016 Posted September 8, 2016 Yep. It's hard to quantify stuff like that but they look like they're coasting. I don't even see any rage after their s***** ABs. They all just look stone faced and walk back on to the field as if nothing happened lol. No fire. It's like some of these guys expected something huge to happen at the deadline like last year or something, because that's when it mainly started (really s***** August at the plate somewhat bailed out by pitching).
Terminator Old-Timey Member Posted September 8, 2016 Posted September 8, 2016 Is everyone still assured that this team will for sure make the playoffs? They're ice cold at literally the worst time with a few teams breathing down their necks. No not at all. That's what I've been trying to say since last night. It's September and whatever leads we had are essentially gone. I'm not someone to normally hit the panic button but we are staring down a 1-5 slide in September right now. That's not good. We find ourselves down by 3 games or more to Boston at any point this month and the division is pretty much gone.
THANOS Old-Timey Member Posted September 8, 2016 Posted September 8, 2016 Idk what the f*** you are doing with this, but they sure as hell can and should win more than 1 in 6. I think he's sarcastically ribbing the apologists? I could be wrong though.
Governator Community Moderator Posted September 8, 2016 Posted September 8, 2016 This isn't nearly as big a deficit as yesterday and the Jays nearly came back from that. The pessimism is irrational. I guess you should just close the thread and call it a day.
TheGrandslamMan Verified Member Posted September 8, 2016 Posted September 8, 2016 No nothing is guaranteed. We could easily be out of a playoff spot as early as Sunday. Exactly, that's why that stupid commercial talking about how "history" will be made in October pisses me off so much. It would be pompous and presumptuous EVEN IF the Jays had all but sealed up a playoff spot... But they're not even close to doing that yet. I really bet visiting teams play that commercial in their clubhouse and it's gotta get teams fired up.

Normally I would agree, but making a series of average/poor starters look a lot more talented than they really are over the past 10 games or so is really getting worrisome.

I could see it. It would be stupid and pety to sabotage your own season by sulking because there wasn't a big deadline move, but there's a lot of egos in that clubhouse lol.
BlueJays Verified Member Posted September 8, 2016 Posted September 8, 2016 Idk what the f*** you are doing with this, but they sure as hell can and should win more than 1 in 6. Dude. RELAX

Inklink Old-Timey Member Posted September 8, 2016 Posted September 8, 2016 Why risk it even more coming out for another AB??
EdwinsParrot Old-Timey Member Posted September 8, 2016 Posted September 8, 2016 Ok martin youre just hurting yourself snd the team at this point
Inklink Old-Timey Member Posted September 8, 2016 Posted September 8, 2016 Looks Poulis doesn't have the balls to tell Martin he's out. Edit: Gibby sends Hale to tell him.

As much as it angers and frustrates you, it's nothing unusual or wrong. Maybe you should consider not gambling? Things like this probably wouldn't get under your skin as much.
fatcowxlive Old-Timey Member Posted September 8, 2016 Posted September 8, 2016 Lol no way Martins continuing
IBTrini Verified Member Posted September 8, 2016 Posted September 8, 2016 Idk what the f*** you are doing with this, but they sure as hell can and should win more than 1 in 6. Aren't they doing better than 1 in 6?
fatcowxlive Old-Timey Member Posted September 8, 2016 Posted September 8, 2016 Wtf lol Martin telling Hale and Gibbons to f*** off
thatoneguy Old-Timey Member Posted September 8, 2016 Posted September 8, 2016 Aren't they doing better than 1 in 6? If they lose this game, no.
TheGrandslamMan Verified Member Posted September 8, 2016 Posted September 8, 2016 Atta boy TULO. He along with Pillar have been 2 of the only guys in the lineup not swinging outta their heels for a home run every at bat.
