jaysguy44 Old-Timey Member Posted September 5, 2016 Posted September 5, 2016 What? Because it was the 7th inning?
Governator Community Moderator Posted September 5, 2016 Posted September 5, 2016 "their" You're trying to get a rise out of him...
Orgfiller Old-Timey Member Posted September 5, 2016 Posted September 5, 2016 You're right, screw his .887 OPS and .370 wOBA and his 131 wRC+ this year in high leverage situations!! Fwiw, you're more than likely replying to a troll account.
gruber92 Old-Timey Member Posted September 5, 2016 Posted September 5, 2016 Gibby wasted Martin even though if we make a semi comeback, his spot in the order will come back around in the ninth.
Governator Community Moderator Posted September 5, 2016 Posted September 5, 2016 Gibby wasted Martin even though if we make a semi comeback, his spot in the order will come back around in the ninth. At least we can get Navarro in for Thole.
Stangstag Old-Timey Member Posted September 5, 2016 Posted September 5, 2016 Gibby wasted Martin even though if we make a semi comeback, his spot in the order will come back around in the ninth. Meh, he used him in a perfect situation. We might not get a better chance to score again.
havok24 Old-Timey Member Posted September 5, 2016 Posted September 5, 2016 Because it was the 7th inning? I know that, but it's a high leverage situation and why not just bring in your best weapon out of the pen? Screw the closer tag.
fatcowxlive Old-Timey Member Posted September 5, 2016 Posted September 5, 2016 Fwiw, you're more than likely replying to a troll account. No I understand that but there are lots of other non troll accounts that believe this too, so it's kinda like setting the record straight
el duque Verified Member Posted September 5, 2016 Posted September 5, 2016 93 mph fast ball for Cesil, not bad. He might be coming back
Orgfiller Old-Timey Member Posted September 5, 2016 Posted September 5, 2016 Gibby wasted Martin even though if we make a semi comeback, his spot in the order will come back around in the ninth. Although with Goins in the game, you could just pinch hit for him with Tulo and it doesn't cost us much. It's a fine move if he never planned on having Martin catch anyways.
Spanky99 Old-Timey Member Posted September 5, 2016 Posted September 5, 2016 That wouldn't make much of a difference... You would just leave 4 of your starters off the roster each day. Yeah, they can tweak the rules to 8 relievers at most... easy fix.
fatcowxlive Old-Timey Member Posted September 5, 2016 Posted September 5, 2016 Oh we kept Navarro and subbed out Martin?
Governator Community Moderator Posted September 5, 2016 Posted September 5, 2016 Yeah, they can tweak the rules to 8 relievers at most... easy fix. Yea it should be 8 or 9 max / per game. Even so, it's practically an endless supply waiting for next game anyway.
gruber92 Old-Timey Member Posted September 5, 2016 Posted September 5, 2016 At least we can get Navarro in for Thole. Meh, he used him in a perfect situation. Orgfiller Old-Timey Member Posted September 5, 2016 Posted September 5, 2016 By the way, this ump has been excellent, big thumbs up to him.
Governator Community Moderator Posted September 5, 2016 Posted September 5, 2016 By the way, this ump has been excellent, big thumbs up to him. Without pitch tracker it's hard to know these days.

JFD Old-Timey Member Posted September 5, 2016 Posted September 5, 2016 Thank goodness Gibby didn't go full retard. He's permanently full retard.
justafan Verified Member Posted September 5, 2016 Posted September 5, 2016 WOW Cecil. Is that the first time this year?
Orgfiller Old-Timey Member Posted September 5, 2016 Posted September 5, 2016 Without pitch tracker it's hard to know these days. Yeah we're probably spoiled by it. But on the surface it doesn't seem like he's made any egregious call, and the players certainly haven't had any issues with him which would imply that his strikezone has been good.
Bobthe4th Old-Timey Member Posted September 5, 2016 Posted September 5, 2016 Yea it should be 8 or 9 max / per game. Even so, it's practically an endless supply waiting for next game anyway. If you're using a limit it needs to go up by 1 pitcher per extra inning.
THANOS Old-Timey Member Posted September 5, 2016 Posted September 5, 2016 WOW Cecil. Is that the first time this year? What are you wowing about, he still didn't look dominant?
Orgfiller Old-Timey Member Posted September 5, 2016 Posted September 5, 2016 And just like that pitch tracker is back in the equation.
Governator Community Moderator Posted September 5, 2016 Posted September 5, 2016 If you're using a limit it needs to go up by 1 pitcher per extra inning. Naa, spend them wisely is the whole point. If you want to change pitchers 4 times in an inning, that's your decision you don't get extras when it goes to the 10th. Just like you don't all season.
Vialotor Verified Member Posted September 5, 2016 Posted September 5, 2016 A hanging changeup, should have been destroyed.

Yeah maybe, but what if the starter doesn't make it out of the first inning? Is it better to see a positional player pitch when you have spare relievers on the team? I don't think it's an easy answer.
Vialotor Verified Member Posted September 5, 2016 Posted September 5, 2016 Should have been safe but too close to overturn, friggin umps.

And the other way, starter goes 7, then a 8 reliever limit allows changes every at bat.
Vialotor Verified Member Posted September 5, 2016 Posted September 5, 2016 How big are those wasted opportunities in the first few innings?
