The Dodgers in a division race see no value in having this cancer play, why would you want him. Its not like his numbers are overwhelming either,

 

Most likely he should go to a rebuilding market where he can mature.

Bautista was running slow around the bases today. I remember one play on a sacrifice fly, that it looked like he could have been tagged out at the plate if the catcher didn't drop the ball.

Unless I'm mistaken, wouldn't at least 20 teams have had the option to claim him before the Sox? I find it hard to believe that he got past that many teams.

You'd think an NL contender would have made a claim even if not interested in acquiring him. He has elite skills and is capable of absolutely exploding over a short stretch. You'd think that if he got to the -playoff teams, someone would have made a claim to block their rivals.

If a team makes a claim on him, don't they have to accept him (and his contract), if the Dodgers are willing to let him go for nothing?

 

Yeah. But the Dodgers won't let him go for nothing, and 2/14 isn't really prohibitive anyway.
