Supposedly Upton gives better defense, but base running and offense they are basically the same.. Upton hits more HR and strikes out more. I guess you have to go with Upton but it certainly feels like it would be better to have a guy who can put the ball in play from time to time.

Upton, Smoak, Carrera, Cecellani, Saunders since the Allstar Break, Barney, Thole....This offense is going the wrong way quickly. Teams just pitch around Donaldson and Edwin and the rest can't even put the ball in play half the time.

I don't know. It might be worth a look to see what Carrera offers in CF although I agree he probably isn't great. To me Carrera is probably a better hitter as of right now.
