BigCecil Old-Timey Member Posted August 9, 2016 Posted August 9, 2016 "On pace" and the actual numbers are two different things. Yes, but the fact his 2016 is tracking so closely to last year, after being out so long and having a short game action rehab, is really encouraging. He is back to spraying the ball all over and he has 10 f***ing dingers already. I'll take it! He has been more than I thought he would be this year.
fatcowxlive Old-Timey Member Posted August 9, 2016 Posted August 9, 2016 Can we talk about how good Benoit had been?
JFD Old-Timey Member Posted August 9, 2016 Posted August 9, 2016 Travis is so humble. Captain material. Give him the C.
BigCecil Old-Timey Member Posted August 9, 2016 Posted August 9, 2016 Can we talk about how good Benoit had been? Yes, but didn't Buck and Tabby fap enough for all of us? That was a scary inning. The BBs are still an issue, although he has been much better than 5/9 in Seattle.
intentional wok Old-Timey Member Posted August 9, 2016 Posted August 9, 2016 Can we talk about how good Benoit had been? Secret hero of the game. Got some help from some boneheaded baserunning but even if a guy came in it would have been a decent houdini job.

ElNik2013 Old-Timey Member Posted August 9, 2016 Posted August 9, 2016 "On pace" and the actual numbers are two different things. Here are some actual numbers: 119 games played, 418 PA, 4.4 fWAR and I'm pretty certain this doesn't include tonight's performance. Up to you to judge whether you believe the sample size from last year, so far this year or both combined.
RealAccountant Old-Timey Member Posted August 9, 2016 Posted August 9, 2016 Travis is the next Ian Kinsler.
BigCecil Old-Timey Member Posted August 9, 2016 Posted August 9, 2016 Storen was a steamy pile of s*** word
ElNik2013 Old-Timey Member Posted August 9, 2016 Posted August 9, 2016 So Buck and Pat, what do you think of Travis batting leadoff now?

But that guy I was quoting was saying that he wouldn't give Travis for Sale straight up, which I would do.

Captain Adama Old-Timey Member Posted August 9, 2016 Posted August 9, 2016 Can we talk about how good Benoit had been? Replace "good" with "lucky"
fatcowxlive Old-Timey Member Posted August 9, 2016 Posted August 9, 2016 Replace "good" with "lucky" I repeat Storen has been a steamy pile of s*** lol
bones10 Old-Timey Member Posted August 9, 2016 Posted August 9, 2016 I repeat Storen has been a steamy pile of s*** lol Not really relevant lol. Gibby is also using Benoit in high leverage roles he could implode just as easy as Storen.

Since we directly traded Swapped Storen for Benoit I say it's very relevant. He's pitched better so far, my he's good comment is relative to what we gave up

puphood Verified Member Posted August 9, 2016 Posted August 9, 2016 Secret hero of the game. Got some help from some boneheaded baserunning but even if a guy came in it would have been a decent houdini job. He may of got some help from poor base running but he didn't get a first pitch strike call from the umpire that was obviously a strike to start. Benoit was rightly and obviously pissed with out confronting the umpire.......love his smirk.....

He's pitched better so far, my he's good comment is relative to what we gave up So far he has been extremely lucky, at least it's good for his confidence. In the 7 games that he has pitched for us (July 27 - Aug 8) he has 0 ERA with 5.74 xFIP. His BABIP is .158. Just for argument sake, since Grilli came over (June 1st) he has 1.99 ERA with 2.66 xFIP, .225 BABIP in 22.2 innings. I guess sometimes it's better to be lucky than good...
The Cats Ass Old-Timey Member Posted August 9, 2016 Author Posted August 9, 2016 Still undefeated as GDT maker! Also, what was up with the infield dirt last night? Was almost like mud. Hopefully they fix that up for today.
