Between Smoak and Colabello, the Jays have been below replacement level at 1b all season.

 

Play Upton and hope to hell he starts to hit while you can rotate DH around JB, EE, Donaldson, and Saunders. That's a better option than Smoak at first right now.

For the sporadic playing time Smoak gets, I think he does his job ok. BJ Upton is a whole different story though.

Smoak has been poor at best for probably a month. if KC used a beach ball he couldn't hit it. As far as Upton goes he is about the same at the plate however he may get a little more weak contact but he ain't doing his job either. This team as a whole is hitting poorly for the last week, Travis is carrying this team at the moment . However time can change things.......

How am i wrong about Goins? From the time i said he'd stick (over two tears ago), he stuck long enough to prove me right. There were already apologetic posts regarding this, so wake up. Regarding the bet with Spanky, Goins has to have at least 250PA, so sorry to burst your bubble. If i lose, i'll pay him like a man and think twice about it again.

Martin hopping around one one foot was the first clue you dozzy fck.The second clue would be Dickey starting tomorrow and the off day on thursday would be enough days off for Martin to start today if he wasn't banged up.

 

So because Martin's initial reaction to getting spiked by hopping around on one foot is an absolute indication that he requires a day off? Have you ever played baseball? I used to get spiked all the time, and yeah it hurts like f*** initially, i was usually fine the next day.

No,not an "absolute certainty"(nor did i suggest it was),but couple it with the two days off in the next four and i can make a reasonable assumption that Martin isn't starting today because he's banged up.

 

Then again reasonable assumptions don't really seem to be your thing so.........
