tercet Verified Member Posted July 31, 2016 Posted July 31, 2016 Think what we could get from the Dodgers, Giants or Rangers. This reliever bubble won't last..

GreekFatAss Verified Member Posted July 31, 2016 Posted July 31, 2016 The fact that he has 4 more years of club control at even less salary then Miller or Chapman have to add to his value too?
fatcowxlive Old-Timey Member Posted July 31, 2016 Posted July 31, 2016 Tercet's alive? If we're going by this logic might as well trade Donaldson because PROSPECTZ Man lots of you still have the loser mentality of always trying to get max value of MLB players. There's a reason why Indians dealt all those prospects for a closer. Do you know why? Flags fly forever, they have a shot of getting a ring, which is kind of the point of the game We see a trade like the Indians we should look at it as a positive for them, not a negative
AdamGreenwood Old-Timey Member Posted July 31, 2016 Posted July 31, 2016 Not sure if you guys realize this, but the Jays kind of need a closer this year.
L54 Old-Timey Member Posted July 31, 2016 Posted July 31, 2016 More of an offseason move than a deadline one.
L54 Old-Timey Member Posted July 31, 2016 Posted July 31, 2016 In theory it sounds like it makes sense, but on the surface you see how f***ing stupid this would actually be.
jaysguy44 Old-Timey Member Posted July 31, 2016 Posted July 31, 2016 This is so dumb. Wow. Some people just fall in love with the whole "shiny new toys" idea.
G-Snarls Community Moderator Posted July 31, 2016 Posted July 31, 2016 More of an offseason move than a deadline one. Yeah We need him now. Desperately.
King Old-Timey Member Posted July 31, 2016 Posted July 31, 2016 Osuna for Jose De Leon ++ Put JDL in bullpen. Or use him as a starter and call up Barnes
ElNik2013 Old-Timey Member Posted July 31, 2016 Posted July 31, 2016 I brought it up in the other thread as an offseason move for sure. This year though? Tough one but let's not forget that either Sanchez or Hutchison will be in the pen at some point. Hutchison is an unknown in the pen but I suspect his stuff plays up there.

TheHurl Site Manager Posted July 31, 2016 Posted July 31, 2016 The fact that he has 4 more years of club control at even less salary then Miller or Chapman have to add to his value too? Reliever is the one situation where youth doesn't always increase value. With the volatility of relievers having a 4 or 5 year track record seems to increase value. I'm not saying that Osuna doesn't have value...but not that much more than Miller despite the obvious advantages. With the value of relievers in trade are we going to see more teams being quick to move the top prospects into the pen?
BlueRocky Old-Timey Member Posted July 31, 2016 Posted July 31, 2016 Not sure if you guys realize this, but the Jays kind of need a closer this year. and the fact that Osuna might actually be a stud starter when given the chance
L54 Old-Timey Member Posted July 31, 2016 Posted July 31, 2016 and the fact that Osuna might actually be a stud starter when given the chance I don't think Roberto Osuna will ever make a start in the MLB.

Daniel Labude Jays Centre Contributor Posted July 31, 2016 Posted July 31, 2016 Teams won't pay what Osuna is worth...now or in the offseason. We could easily get 3-4 top prospects for him But why on Earth would we do it. He is a 21 year old closer putting up Allstar numbers and is essentially the youngest player in the league for 2 years in a row (Mazara I think is the only one younger at the moment). He is under control for years to come as well. Osuna is part of our young core going forward and he shouldn't be going anywhere for awhile

If his constant opinions about Hech and Sanchez are anything to go by I say Osuna should not be traded and remain a blue jay the rest of his career lol

I am sick and tired of your online bullying and you have been at me for quite some time. You dont like me, I get it, ignore me. you want to get your friend to permenant ban me, do it. I dont care. You know I remember you from the old forum. I remember once this guy posted, dont remember what his name was. Habsnjays fan I think, and you told him to commit suicide. You dont take into account people's feelings thats your problem. My guess is that you dont respect people because you dont respect yourself, and you project that negativity out on to others. If i had to guess, I'd say you got problems in your life, so does everyone else, dont direct your personal issues on to here. You tell me I am on your ignore list, yet you read every one of my posts. They will ban me for this, thats for sure, but I am okay. I dont really care. I rarely posts on here now, because its so boring and uninteresting. Same posters talking the same garbage about WAR. None of them actually understand WAR/Position. They dont consider real life decisions, and dont try to evolve their knowledge. You need to stop taking things so personally and the fact that you do tells me that you have issues that need to be dealt with. You shouldn't talk to people online the way you do, just because its online doesn't mean there isn't a person on the other end whose feelings wont get hurt. Do you understand? I hope so, and I hope you change the way you deal with things Good luck.

BTS Community Moderator Posted July 31, 2016 Posted July 31, 2016 This is worse than the times you insisted that Aaron Sanchez would be a failure and Adeiny Hechavarria would be a perennial MVP candidate.

Zaun of the Dead Verified Member Posted July 31, 2016 Posted July 31, 2016 I don't think Roberto Osuna will ever make a start in the MLB. He'll be a starter as early as next year. Also, this is a terrible idea.
BTS Community Moderator Posted July 31, 2016 Posted July 31, 2016 He'll be a starter as early as next year. Also, this is a terrible idea. I'm with L54. I'd be surprised if he ever starts. And I think it's the right move. He's worth 2-3 wins in his current role (probably). He only has 4 years of team control left, and if he's stretched out, the first two of those years will come with innings caps that make him unlikely to be worth what he's currently worth in 70 high leverage innings. You'd be stretching him out hoping for 1-2 4+ win seasons before he hits free agency, when you have 2-3 wins in hand (and ostensibly, less injury risk) if you just leave him be.
