flafson Verified Member Posted August 1, 2016 Posted August 1, 2016 Could have just signed him 2 years ago, ffs We tried, he didn't want to come.
RealAccountant Old-Timey Member Posted August 1, 2016 Posted August 1, 2016 Meanwhile on the Twins board.... http://i.imgur.com/qELiVxk.png Lmao
bowld Verified Member Posted August 1, 2016 Posted August 1, 2016 I don't mind it if we are simply taking on the contract. I wouldn't want to see anything of value going back though

John_Havok Old-Timey Member Posted August 1, 2016 Posted August 1, 2016 Meanwhile on the Twins board.... http://i.imgur.com/qELiVxk.png Lol. Greene would be likely ... or Rios as the main piece. SRF would not be on the table
jays_fever Old-Timey Member Posted August 1, 2016 Posted August 1, 2016 Lol team signs mediocre started, fans want teams 3 top prospects for him year later
flafson Verified Member Posted August 1, 2016 Posted August 1, 2016 Meanwhile on the Twins board.... http://i.imgur.com/qELiVxk.png Are they confusing Ervin Santana with Chris Sale?
John_Havok Old-Timey Member Posted August 1, 2016 Posted August 1, 2016 We tried, he didn't want to come. More to it than that, but he got a last minute better offer and took it
TheHurl Site Manager Posted August 1, 2016 Author Posted August 1, 2016 Montas, Holmes and Cotton for Reddick and Hill. Nice deal for both teams. I know I'm 30 minutes behind but I just don't care enough about Santana.
West Texas Forever Old-Timey Member Posted August 1, 2016 Posted August 1, 2016 We need Hutch for next year when Dickey and his f***ing sidekick dick off to retirement.

saskjayfan Old-Timey Member Posted August 1, 2016 Posted August 1, 2016 if we give anything significant and take on 3 years of money for a guy who will be 36 in his last year of the contract, I will be very sad

HERPDERP Old-Timey Member Posted August 1, 2016 Posted August 1, 2016 Hopefully we ship off Chavez too
King Old-Timey Member Posted August 1, 2016 Posted August 1, 2016 Twins Fans want SRF, Greene and Perdomo. Smh
RealAccountant Old-Timey Member Posted August 1, 2016 Posted August 1, 2016 Probably nothing prospects going over to Minny
John_Havok Old-Timey Member Posted August 1, 2016 Posted August 1, 2016 if we give anything significant and take on 3 years of money for a guy who will be 36 in his last year of the contract, I will be very sad I can say I'd rather pay Santana 13.5 million than pay Dickey plus Thole their combined 12.8. It's probably not rational...but what can I say. I hate 1 trick pony pitchers
HERPDERP Old-Timey Member Posted August 1, 2016 Posted August 1, 2016 Probably nothing prospects going over to Minny Not really, he's been pitching well this year. Maybe #10-15 ranked prospects?
G-Snarls Community Moderator Posted August 1, 2016 Posted August 1, 2016 Santana suxxxxx Is he better than RA Dickey right now
BTS Community Moderator Posted August 1, 2016 Posted August 1, 2016 Santana would be a nice addition. Above-average starter who has been very durable, and his contract is very nice: 13.5M in 2017 and 2018 and then a 14M team option in 2019 and vesting option in 2020. If he comes at a cost of very little prospect capital, he's a nice mid-rotation starter that could be here for 3-4 years. And he probably means no Dickey/Thole next year.
John_Havok Old-Timey Member Posted August 1, 2016 Posted August 1, 2016 12:37pm: ESPN’s Jerry Crasnick now tweets that a medical issue may be holding up the Mets’ acquisition of Bruce. Crasnick adds that the severity of the issue isn’t known, but the medicals are no longer a formality.

fatcowxlive Old-Timey Member Posted August 1, 2016 Posted August 1, 2016 Has that ever happened before? Did they give him back for free? They gave up Henderson Alvarez up for free because of a shoulder injury earlier in the year too
RealAccountant Old-Timey Member Posted August 1, 2016 Posted August 1, 2016 Santana is better than Dickey and quite frankly I am sick and tired of seeing Thole's mug around these parts
Captain Adama Old-Timey Member Posted August 1, 2016 Posted August 1, 2016 Is he better than RA Dickey right now Probably not enough to warrant giving up much in the way of prospects. But it'll be a lot better on my psyche, (still not worth giving up prospects for.)
