The Gwinnett Braves won't return to Coca-Cola Field until the 2017 season….good!

The International League South Division opponent has found a home at Coca-Cola Field at the expense of the Bisons in recent years. This weekend was more of the same as the Braves capped off a four-game sweep of the Herd with a 2-1 victory in front of 9,214 on Sunday afternoon.

The last time the Bisons beat Gwinnet at home was June 17, 2013. Since then, 13 straight contests have gone the Braves way.

On Sunday, it was a two-run fourth inning that gave Gwinnett the pair of runs it would need for victory. Former Bisons infielder Sean Kazmar greeted reliever Wilmer Font with a two-run single to centerfield to plate Hector Olivera and Rio Ruiz.

Both runners had reached against starter Scott Copeland, who re-signed with Toronto this week after a three-month stint in the Korea Baseball Organization. Copeland was on the Bisons Opening Day roster but asked for his release so he could sign with the LG Twins of the KBO. He yielded five hits in three-plus innings in his return to the Herd's rotation.

Darrell Ceciliani accounted for the Bisons' lone run in the eighth inning with his sixth homer of the season.

Jose Bautista went 0-4 in his third MLB injury rehab game, bouncing into a pair of 5-4-3 doubleplays.

BISONS NOTES:

Aaron Loup returned to the Bisons after being optioned by Toronto on Friday. He tossed an inning of scoreless relief, getting two grounders and a foul out…Bobby Korecky was placed on the disabled list prior to the game…Domonic Brown had a single in four trips to the plate to extend his hit streak to 10 games. He's reached base safely in 36 of his last 39 games.

Manchester, NH - Ian Parmley hit his second home run of the season, but the Fisher Cats fell to Trenton 3-1 on Sunday afternoon at Northeast Delta Dental Stadium.

The Thunder (62-39) took three of the four games in the series. Ronald Herrera (7-6), who was part of a combined no-hitter of the Fisher Cats earlier this season, beat them again on Sunday. He allowed one run on six hits over six innings, striking out seven. Cale Coshow finished up for his first save.

Trenton started strong with a couple of runs in the top of the first inning against New Hampshire starter Taylor Cole (2-3). Tyler Wade singled and scored on a double by Dustin Fowler. Miguel Andujar plated Fowler with an RBI single.

The Thunder made it 3-0 in the top of the fifth inning. Wade singled for the second time, advancing to second on a walk, eventually scoring on a sacrifice fly by Mike Ford.

Parmley homered off Herrera leading off the bottom of the seventh. Herrera left after the hit, allowing just the one run.

Cole allowed three runs on nine hits in his six innings for New Hampshire (45-55). John Anderson and Jason Berken worked three scoreless innings in relief with a combined five strikeouts.

The Fisher Cats open a seven-game roadtrip on Monday night in Harrisburg. RHP Conner Greene (2-2, 5.06) takes the mound against RHP Michael Brady (2-4, 4.14) for the Senators. Game time is 7:00 p.m.

The next home game at Northeast Delta Dental Stadium will be on Tuesday, August 2, when the Fisher Cats host the Akron Rubber Ducks at 7:05 p.m. The first 1,000 fans that night will receive a Bob Stanley Bobblehead, courtesy of Northeast Delta Dental. Cavan Biggio has slowed down a little bit although the overall profile hasn't really moved. BABIP regression is a bitch

Jb Woodman is kinda good

He seemed to really be struggling at the beginning but has heated up nicely.

Would you say Alford is no longer our top prospect? Those numbers are ugly

In the past offseason if someone would've told me that DJ Davis would have the same stats as Alford at this point of the season I would've been thrilled!!

Hmmmm....but I'm not!

He's got the perfect baseball name, just like the library cop from Seinfeld..Mr. Bookman.

I'd look at promoting Pentecost to Dunedin. He's a little older and needs to be challenged more in my opinion.

He's battled injuries, most notably a concussion. He was in a rut for quite a bit following it but has it turned around lately:

Last 11 games: .308/.429/.513 .433 wOBA 177 wRC+

I may hive missed it, was Bichette hurt a little while ago? I recall him leaving a game early on and hadn't seen his name in the GCL scores for a while.

Alford for Beltran, who says no?

Yankees.

I don't think so at all. Alford has huge upside IMO and I think he will have a break out year next year.

2 HR 5 SB and 8 BB in that stretch also. His all around game may be starting to come back

Not playing today either. Who knows, seems like he got hurt but they are not saying anything about it.

Lol there's no way the Yankees would turn that down.

You don't think the Indians or Rangers would offer something similar? Beltran would be a huge bat in any lineup.

The only way the Indians would top that would be with Zimmer or Frazier, and no chance do I think they would do that. Same with the Rangers and Brinson. No team should be giving up a Top 50 prospect for 10 weeks of Carlos Beltran.

Cleveland likely would for Beltran plus Miller.they need to make a move

Plus Miller? Like he's a throw-in? Miller alone is vastly more valuable on the trade market than Beltran and yes, could return those types of prospects.

No, didn't mean as a throw in, lol. Just saying they could easily part with one of their prized outfielder prospects if a trade of Miller was involved.

I'm actually afraid the Yankees will do some housecleaning and end up with multiple top prospects, drastically reduce their payroll in the process and end up a juggernaut for the next 10 years after they sign harper.

Two prospects can be better than Alford. I also think the Rangers would seriously consider giving Brinson in the right situation.

No team is giving up that much for Beltran, which seems to be the overarching point that you're missing.

I'm not missing your point. I'm disagreeing with your statement based on the fact that comparable rental hitters got better prospects than Alford at last year's deadline.

Maybe no teams will give up a top 100 prospect for Beltran this year, but you can't deny that the same kind of trade happens every year so the possibility exists.

False.

Well Beltran has the same WAR right now that Zobrist had for all of 2015, not to mention a hall of fame track record and a reputation as a postseason performer. Manaea was ranked 84 by BA and they also got another real prospect.

You can argue Alford's value is underestimated by the consensus rankings, but my statement is decisively true. There are more examples as well.
