On The Bump... RHP R.A. Dickey

Dickey has surrendered 109 home runs since the start of 2013, which is the most in baseball over that span. This year, he has allowed 22, but 18 of those have been solo shots. His first three-run homer came during last start vs. Oakland.

GD Notes...

Hisashi Iwakuma will look for his fourth straight victory when he takes the mound on Saturday afternoon at Rogers Centre in the second game of the Mariners' three-game series against the Blue Jays.

The right-hander pitched seven scoreless innings while surrendering just two hits and striking out eight with one walk his last time out on July 16 against the Houston Astros. Iwakuma (10-6, 4.01) has not lost a start since June 28 and has won six of his last seven outings.

Toronto will counter with R.A. Dickey (7-10, 4.11). The knuckleballer was saddled with the loss his last time out against the Oakland Athletics on July 16. Dickey surrendered five earned runs on five hits in six innings of work as the Blue Jays fell, 5-4, to the A's. The 41-year-old has won two straight home starts.

Things to know about this game

• With Blue Jays catcher Russell Martin sidelined due to a sore left knee, Josh Thole will make his second consecutive start behind the plate.

• Blue Jays right fielder Ezequiel Carrera, who has missed four games due to a sore left Achilles, is expected to return to the lineup for Saturday's game.

• The Mariners are expected to place shortstop Ketel Marte on the DL due to a bout of mononucleosis and recall a pitcher from Triple-A Tacoma on Saturday.

Jays are 1-8 in first home games back after a road trip.

Luckily that doesn't apply to the rest of the homestand. I expect a good game today.

Come on dude..

Soft liners that are dropped are often called errors. Donaldson himself would tell you that's a routine play if he sees it.
