KingKat Old-Timey Member Posted July 27, 2016 Posted July 27, 2016 Stick what/who? Please give it a rest.
gbill2004 Verified Member Posted July 27, 2016 Posted July 27, 2016 Please give it a rest. Seriously what did he mean by that?
baseballsss Verified Member Posted July 27, 2016 Posted July 27, 2016 Please give it a rest. Why don't you ban him. People get banned for dumber reasons.
thatoneguy Old-Timey Member Posted July 27, 2016 Posted July 27, 2016 Please give it a rest. Please just get rid of him for good. He adds nothing but vulgarity and incessant babble.
Inklink Old-Timey Member Posted July 28, 2016 Posted July 28, 2016 AAAAGHHH. I'm furious that I had to watch him pitch, even though I didn't watch today's game. So frustrating, this guy.
guylaroche5 Verified Member Posted July 28, 2016 Posted July 28, 2016 Good thing I missed this game! Taking 2/3 is great we and we don't have to watch Thole + Dickey vs the Orioles, I'd take that outcome every time.

It is literally killing my love of the game.
o2cui2i Community Moderator Posted August 3, 2016 Posted August 3, 2016 should change this to the Bipolar thread.... hate him, love him... kill him, pay him, can't stand him.
Grant77 Old-Timey Member Posted August 3, 2016 Posted August 3, 2016 Extend Dickey. I did when I saw that Astros girl and we won.
Terminator Old-Timey Member Posted August 3, 2016 Posted August 3, 2016 That game was huge. Extend Thole while we are at it.
Laika Community Moderator Posted August 3, 2016 Posted August 3, 2016 Dickey's numbers are worse than I thought. Hmm.
glory Old-Timey Member Posted August 3, 2016 Posted August 3, 2016 Nah, with Liriano's salary, there's little chance they bring the Dickster back. Im not sure Liriano is an upgrade but better him than Dickey for the same (or similar) cost.

Stroman, Sanchez, Estrada, Happ, Liriano in-house means that Dickey @ 8-10M is probably not the best use of resources next year. It would be surprising to see him brought back at this point.
Terminator Old-Timey Member Posted August 3, 2016 Posted August 3, 2016 Who do we have for depth after those five? Bolsinger? Definitely will need to address that. It's been pretty remarkable that we've only used 6 starters this season. Last year it was 12.

Greene SRF (will start in AA) Yup, needs some AAA pickups. All of the SP in the upper minors are just org guys (Gabryjewski, Dawson, Cole, etc.)

Would be nice to have some quality pitching prospects ready for some MLB innings next year, but Harris and SRF are probably 2018 options more than 2017. It will be interesting to see the team enter the offseason with all 5 rotation spots locked in though. When was the last time that happened?
Laika Community Moderator Posted August 3, 2016 Posted August 3, 2016 I think you can justify bringing Dickey back as long as he or Liriano are willing to accept a swingman role, if needed. The innings insurance Dickey provides is very nice.

Yeah with all the free agents we have in the lineup having the rotation locked up is huge.

Is it just me ore does Biagini really look like a potential starter? He's got good fastball command and the changeup is legit.
HERPDERP Old-Timey Member Posted August 3, 2016 Posted August 3, 2016 Bring Back Dickey, then trade him in the offseason. Pitching market is thin.
Jimcanuck Old-Timey Member Posted August 3, 2016 Posted August 3, 2016 I say this discussion should wait til season's end
Arjun Nimmala Vancouver Canadians - A+ SS It's been slow going at the start of the season for Nimmala, but on Sunday, he was 3-for-5 with his 3rd home run and 3 RBI. Explore Arjun Nimmala News >
