Daniel Labude Jays Centre Contributor Posted June 17, 2016 Posted June 17, 2016 Such terrible player management. Travis has 8 hits in 5 games including 3 doubles and a homerun. Why on Earth is he not in the lineup and why is Pompey not up here.
gbill2004 Verified Member Posted June 17, 2016 Posted June 17, 2016 I know Bautista is famous for his workout regime and taking care of his body, but I wonder if once he signs his big fat contract, he stops doing all that s***, stops working out and switches to the cheeseburger and Doritos diet?
Spanky99 Old-Timey Member Posted June 17, 2016 Posted June 17, 2016 f***. I knew it. If Bautista would have just been stretching his toes a little more we could have avoided all this. lol... I just mentioned this today to you, avoiding a key injury.
intentional wok Old-Timey Member Posted June 17, 2016 Posted June 17, 2016 Have we ever seen a fully loaded Jays lineup without one guy or another being out? By that I mean, Russell, Smoak, Travis, JD, Tulo, Saunders, Pillar, EE, and JB in the same lineup?
Sammy225 Old-Timey Member Posted June 17, 2016 Posted June 17, 2016 The negative i can see coming from this is them trying to rush Tulo back before he is ready like they did with Travis when Tulo went down.
thatoneguy Old-Timey Member Posted June 17, 2016 Posted June 17, 2016 No Travis is ********. They need to win these games badly against the Orioles since they don't play the division for a long stretch after this. They also have an off day on Monday and another one after a short series with the Dbacks.

BTS Community Moderator Posted June 17, 2016 Posted June 17, 2016 Travis is probably banged up. Every time a scratch makes everyone lose their minds, it turns out that he was hurting or sick or something. You'd think people would learn.
vdartanian Verified Member Posted June 17, 2016 Posted June 17, 2016 He has a "strained big toe" and is in a walking boot. This sounds a lot like turf toe, which can linger all season long and can be a major issue. It's quite possible we don't see Bautista again this season. Nice try dumb dumb!
Sammy225 Old-Timey Member Posted June 17, 2016 Posted June 17, 2016 Our pitching can't be as bad as it was last weekend can it?
Terminator Old-Timey Member Posted June 17, 2016 Posted June 17, 2016 Travis is probably banged up. Every time a scratch makes everyone lose their minds, it turns out that he was hurting or sick or something. You'd think people would learn. Yeah for sure. He told Barry Davis he was fine but maybe he was lying or perhaps they are just taking it slow with his injury.
gbill2004 Verified Member Posted June 17, 2016 Posted June 17, 2016 Nice try dumb dumb! Actually you're the dumb dumb. Read up on turf toe...it's a serious injury that can linger. And if it needs surgery he'd be for sure out for the season.

BTS Community Moderator Posted June 17, 2016 Posted June 17, 2016 Yeah for sure. He told Barry Davis he was fine but maybe he was lying or perhaps they are just taking it slow with his injury. Yeah. Maybe he has a bad hemorrhoid or diahrea or something. People forget that that the players are people, and if someone gets a day off, there's probably a good reason for it.
Daniel Labude Jays Centre Contributor Posted June 17, 2016 Posted June 17, 2016 Yeah. Maybe he has a bad hemorrhoid or diahrea or something. People forget that that the players are people, and if someone gets a day off, there's probably a good reason for it. So what does 2 games in a row mean?
Terminator Old-Timey Member Posted June 17, 2016 Posted June 17, 2016 So what does 2 games in a row mean? Makes it even more likely that he's nicked up a little bit IMO. Or maybe his shoulder is sore or something.
Sammy225 Old-Timey Member Posted June 17, 2016 Posted June 17, 2016 Ya i am f***ing smart deal with it lol
Daniel Labude Jays Centre Contributor Posted June 17, 2016 Posted June 17, 2016 Makes it even more likely that he's nicked up a little bit IMO. Or maybe his shoulder is sore or something. He came in the game late yesterday and hit a HR....so that just adds more questions.
Sammy225 Old-Timey Member Posted June 17, 2016 Posted June 17, 2016 Makes it even more likely that he's nicked up a little bit IMO. Or maybe his shoulder is sore or something. Ya that would not cause red flags and people to freak out lol
Abomination Old-Timey Member Posted June 17, 2016 Posted June 17, 2016 Reason for Pompey to not be up? Cecilliani...wtf If it's really expected to be just 15 days, they probably don't want to burn an option on Pompey for that amount of time. If it was longer, or if Pillar went down, we'd see him I think.
Terminator Old-Timey Member Posted June 17, 2016 Posted June 17, 2016 Ya that would not cause red flags and people to freak out lol Right. And in reality they might not think it's a big deal but the public will go nuts over it so why bother saying anything.
Terminator Old-Timey Member Posted June 17, 2016 Posted June 17, 2016 That's turf toe. Hopefully it's not that bad. Horrible injury for a football player but I don't think it'd be as bad for a baseball player.

Bingo, there was an article I read on Pompey the other day on his focus and talking to Kim, the manager was talking about lets see if he still has his focus in August during the dog days, etc, it sure didn't sound like he's coming anywhere near the big club, and all I thought was options.

I don't keep up with the human interest stories. Is there some doubt about Pompey's motivation or something?

KingKat Old-Timey Member Posted June 17, 2016 Posted June 17, 2016 I don't keep up with the human interest stories. Is there some doubt about Pompey's motivation or something? Not exactly. There are issue around his concentration which came to a head when he had that horrible game where he got picked off and made a bunch of other errors because he couldn't refocus after the initial mistake. As a response to this, he's switched to a more regimented pre-game practice routine where he works on all aspects of his game rather than whatever he feels like working on that day.
BigCecil Old-Timey Member Posted June 17, 2016 Posted June 17, 2016 Yeah, I think it was Pompey or Alford that had turf toe earlier this season, missed a couple weeks. Pompey did for sure.
