For the best of the team Stroman should go to the Pen if we want to have a shot at playoff. Bring Hutchison up

For the sake of the team something has to change with the offense. They have cost us probably more games than the pen.

9 walks...6 hits...only 1 hit with a runner on base (might be 2). 0 hits with RISP. Guy on 3rd less than 2 outs twice...no runs. That's is the sole reason we lost. 1 sac fly and we win 3-2 tonight.

Amazing start by Sanchez!!!!!!!

Bluejays hitting sucked even last yr, no one believed me b/c of the numbers. Feast or famine approach everytime.

I don't think you can possibly call last season's offence s*** no matter what you try to do. The results were borderline historic.

Tbh though why does Sanchez give af? He was awesome tonight and is going to be awesome going forward.

Really?

Rumors are going around that Pete Walker was so irate that he had to go back to the clubhouse to cool off after seeing all the strike outs by Sanchez. It got pretty heated, apparently.

Irate at who? The hitters?

As disappointing as this game was, the Kansas City Royals, after starting to look like a championship team again, have now lost 6 straight games and two of their best players. So I guess it could be even worse for the Blue Jays.

As good as Sanchez was tonight, he was the one who gave up the two leadoff hits in the 9th.

i can't believe no one believed you...I mean you had a statement All they had was facts and figures.

Yeah really. He was pissed he gave up a double? No way the loss was on him.

I would think at least a part of that was anger towards his teammates, and deservingly so.

To ask why he should give a s*** is totally nonsensical.

Are you mad the Bluejays lost? You literally had nothing to do with the outcome.

Again, 2001.

Yesterday's loss was worse than today's. They scored runs today. They didn't give up double digit runs today. Just seems logical to me.

Nah, wasting a great pitching performance is worse - yesterday the pitching and hitting both sucked = no chance.

I get the damn point, but do continue to be an ass.

That's what makes this one worse. We got blown out in everything yesterday. Today we should have easily blown them out with Sanchez pitching a CG...instead...blown 2-0 lead in the 9th when they had 1 hit and lost in extras. Mentally I think this one hurts a lot more imo

So cut my wrists and black my eyes.

So I can fall asleep tonight, or die.

It is a tough loss, but Sanchez was given the chance at the complete game and he gave up a single and double to start the 9th. So Sanchez was partly at fault for the team loss.

I actually lifted the ban. I judged him by his reactive posts. I don't think he's a good poster...but I suppose he's not disruptive.

Appreciate that. I do apologize for being a little negative lately. Long time fan who was incredibly excited for the season and I've been pretty frustrated by the approach of this offense and the bullpen. Watching Sanchez throw the game of his career was thrilling and seeing the offense squander opportunity after opportunity was infuriating.

Doesn't help my emotions that I had the Jays in a few parlays that have otherwise turned up aces.:P

I know Gibby used the lineup change as a little shakeup to get things going and the Jays did go on a run but he's gotta put an end to it. JB leading off, Martin hitting cleanup; it's bad managing.

Man, I really hope this team is not hovering around .500 in July. Either sell or (reasonably) go for it. No in between. Finishing .500, missing the playoffs, and then losing all the FA's for nothing is about the worst case scenario for this season. They don't have a crazy run differential this season. They are playing about where they should be, unfortunately.

There was no reason to take Sanchez out, shut up.

Well, a lot of managers in that role will let their starter go out and pitch the inning until a runner reaches base and then give him the hook (especially in a 2 run game). That way if the pitcher gives up a rip you still let Osuna come in and have a chance to save the game regardless if the inherited runner scores or not. Maybe with 2 outs you let Sanchez stay in after allowing a hit.

To Gibby's credit he was lights out the entire game, so you win some you lose some.

The offense is just not good anymore.

The only guy who I think can turn things around is Donaldson. He hasn't been healthy all year ever since ST.

But Bautista, Edwin, Martin and Pillar - they have no excuse.

As annoying as this loss is, Sanchez really just went ridiculous this game. That's a huge positive. I never in my wildest dreams expected a start in Sanchez going 8, striking 12 and walking 1. Dominant

Sanchez' groundball rate is elite though. It made sense to keep him pitching with a runner on first to try and get the GBDP

The lack of production from Tulo's been a huge blow too. Who could have imagined that his bat would be as useless as it's been for us?

It's difficult cause there's no real young spark plug to ignite the offense or anything either.

As good as they were last year it's hard to fathom that they won't be able to turn it around though but s***... The time is ticking away here.

Good point. If he did give Sanchez the hook after allowing a hit or before the 9th and Osuna game in and lost it everyone would be calling for Gibby's head.

With everything considered that was nearly an impossible game to lose and they somehow managed to do it. Still bummed out.
