TheHurl Site Manager Posted June 8, 2016 Posted June 8, 2016 Heard Moniak is also a possibility. It's too many times I'm hearing it now, there is a link between the two. Last three mocks I read had him going #1 (and signing him for underslot). He likely falls to the Red Sox if the Phillies go pitching.
TheHurl Site Manager Posted June 8, 2016 Posted June 8, 2016 Latest BA mock. 21. BLUE JAYS: Toronto is also tied to the college starters and will take whichever one falls to them. If Burdi is still here at 21, the Jays are an excellent fit. PICK: T.J. Zeuch, rhp Read more at http://www.baseballamerica.com/draft/mock-draft-5-0/#u7woCSqahdbrM6Sj.99

Angrioter Old-Timey Member Posted June 8, 2016 Posted June 8, 2016 Id love Burdi with our first pick Drew Storen clone?
Cyborg Verified Member Posted June 8, 2016 Posted June 8, 2016 Drew Storen clone? No Burdi can touch 102.
Angrioter Old-Timey Member Posted June 8, 2016 Posted June 8, 2016 No Burdi can touch 102. Zumaya clone then
WONDERBAT Verified Member Posted June 8, 2016 Posted June 8, 2016 Zumaya clone then Much better delivery than Zumaya but still a fair amount of effort to it.
Spanky99 Old-Timey Member Posted June 8, 2016 Posted June 8, 2016 Much better delivery than Zumaya but still a fair amount of effort to it. You must be thinking of his brother Nick, he throws more violently.
Spanky99 Old-Timey Member Posted June 8, 2016 Posted June 8, 2016 A Nick Burdi clone Same mechanics, it's uncanny.
THANOS Old-Timey Member Posted June 8, 2016 Posted June 8, 2016 I wonder if the new front office will continue with the BPA mantra from the previous regime. I always loved the high risk/high reward method.

Apparently they are. http://m.bluejays.mlb.com/news/article/182083874/blue-jays-prepare-for-2016-draft http://m.mlb.com/news/article/182674596/blue-jays-brian-parker-ready-for-mlb-draft
Stangstag Old-Timey Member Posted June 8, 2016 Posted June 8, 2016 Which picks do we have this year? I know we have 21st, but after that?

Pendleton Old-Timey Member Posted June 9, 2016 Posted June 9, 2016 http://lmgtfy.com/?q=MLB+draft+order&l=1 Haha I clicked on it
burlingtonbandit Old-Timey Member Posted June 9, 2016 Posted June 9, 2016 This seems like the least hyped draft in a while. This is the first year since I'd say 2009 where I didn't know most of the 1st rounders.

Kind of just snuck up on us it seems. It would be really nice if we could get some NCAA Baseball on Canadian television. I would enjoy watching some of these bigger games.

This is the first year since I'd say 2009 where I didn't know most of the 1st rounders. I was wondering if this was an unusually quiet amount of draft hype or not. I happen to be a big nerd for any of the drafts in the sports I follow, exciting process. Looking forward to seeing who we pick up tonight!

HERPDERP Old-Timey Member Posted June 9, 2016 Posted June 9, 2016 I remember watching my first draft. I think it was 2005 and I was at the computer lab at university. Watched the Jays draft this scrawney kid named Justin Jackson. Thought he'd be a stud!
Jonn Old-Timey Member Posted June 9, 2016 Posted June 9, 2016 s*** draft Hopefully we find a couple gems. Next years draft we will probably have 3 first round picks a lot more exciting.

Thought he'd be a stud! that was the same draft we got "future Chipper Jones" that's the kind of draft that would turn someone off of following the draft
burlingtonbandit Old-Timey Member Posted June 9, 2016 Posted June 9, 2016 Having a contending team. In 2014 and 2015 we had contending teams and I knew a lot about the drafts. I think Kiley leaving Fangraphs has a lot to do with it because ever since he left their prospect coverage has been terrible in terms of producing content.
HERPDERP Old-Timey Member Posted June 9, 2016 Posted June 9, 2016 that was the same draft we got "future Chipper Jones" that's the kind of draft that would turn someone off of following the draft I forgot about that kid, thanks a lot for bringing back the nightmares.

GD Old-Timey Member Posted June 9, 2016 Posted June 9, 2016 Getting pretty pumped. Who are your guys rn
