burlingtonbandit Old-Timey Member Posted May 17, 2016 Posted May 17, 2016 If out of all of that Bautista gets 1 game and Pillar and JD get nothing thats a huge win. JD and Pillar have been better than Bautista anyway.

Yeah exactly, pretty sure JD landed a few punches when he tackled Odor on the ground and others jumped into that scrum, no way JD didn't throw down while out of camera view. The thing that pisses me off the most about the Odor thing is I think it was borderline sucker punch, Jose should have had his hands up ready for anything and didn't so his mistake there, however Odor has always been a sketch player, even in the minors so I don't know why the MLB is going so soft on this here.
Spanky99 Old-Timey Member Posted May 17, 2016 Posted May 17, 2016 Yeah, exactly, PILLAR has been better tha Bats, regardless, am I hearing this s*** right? *SMFH*
Grant77 Old-Timey Member Posted May 17, 2016 Posted May 17, 2016 They'll probably say the suspension is not for the slide itself but something vague like "for his role in instigating the brawl." Most likely and it's total B.S. Matt Bush played a larger role in instigating the altercation on a more dangerous play and there's nothing. I'm noticing a pattern in the last few incidents, including the Royals one last year, and I don't think the league is handling it correctly. Everyone on the planet, including MLB, knows that this was started by Jeff Bannister and/or Matt Bush. Other incidents are just as obvious. Still, MLB always punishes the team with integrity that doesn't start s*** and let's the slimeball cowards get away with nothing. Perhaps we should just throw at the head of Odor in the first inning next time we play and let them retaliate.
closetjaysfan Verified Member Posted May 17, 2016 Posted May 17, 2016 I think Bush and Chavez should have gotten something out of it.

Grant77 Old-Timey Member Posted May 17, 2016 Posted May 17, 2016 Odor was suspended for 8 games dude. What does that have to do with suspending someone for a common play that has never resulted in a suspension?
Terminator Old-Timey Member Posted May 17, 2016 Posted May 17, 2016 Bush was a pawn. He wasn't on the team last year and is dealing with his own issues. They put him in the game and told him to do it and he didn't have a choice. The Rangers are cowards. Dyson (the butthurt bitch that started this all) or Holland (also butthurt last year) should have done it themselves when they had the chance. Bannister absolutely should have been suspended if for nothing more than his goofy and retarded claps and yells when trying to incite the crowd further. All that said, Bautista for one game and Donaldson and Pillar get nothing so I'll take it.
Spanky99 Old-Timey Member Posted May 17, 2016 Posted May 17, 2016 What does that have to do with suspending someone for a common play that has never resulted in a suspension? He admitted sliding hard, etc, Grant, leave it at that. He was quoted for christ sakes.

They put him in the game and told him to do it and he didn't have a choice. It's hard to say, because Matt Bush has proven himself to be scum over and over again in his career. Maybe he was told to do it, or maybe he thought it would ingratiate him with his teammates and decided to plunk Bautista on his own accord. We'll never really know.

Nah, it was all Banister, did you see the asshat after the brawl, he should be embarrassed. I'm actually surprised he didn't get suspended, playing up the crowd, etc...
BigCecil Old-Timey Member Posted May 17, 2016 Posted May 17, 2016 The biggest complainers publically were Holland and Dyson. If anyone should have plunked him it was them. Gibby was right that the way this played out by TEX was gutless. I think we made out well on the suspension tally. Could have been worse due to melee after Jose got Odor'ed.
Maahfaace Verified Member Posted May 17, 2016 Posted May 17, 2016 Yeah, exactly, PILLAR has been better tha Bats, regardless, am I hearing this s*** right? *SMFH* Hes not wrong, Pillar 1.3 WAR, Bats .7 WAR. Going forward I wouldnt expect that continue though
BigCecil Old-Timey Member Posted May 17, 2016 Posted May 17, 2016 Hes not wrong, Pillar 1.3 WAR, Bats .7 WAR. Going forward I wouldnt expect that continue though They were virtually the same WAR last season when Jose had a 148 wRC+. If Jose doesn't hit more, there is no contest. Pillar's an elite level defender below avg bat.

Deadpool Old-Timey Member Posted May 17, 2016 Posted May 17, 2016 I have literally never heard of that person before just now, although I thank you for the comedic value of that hilariously pathetic sentence. I was going to ask if I was the only one that had to google this "celebrity"...
Grant77 Old-Timey Member Posted May 17, 2016 Posted May 17, 2016 He admitted sliding hard, etc, Grant, leave it at that. He was quoted for christ sakes. Everyone who breaks the Utley rule slides hard. That's the point Spanky.

Spanky99 Old-Timey Member Posted May 17, 2016 Posted May 17, 2016 Yup, was just responding to spanky shaking his head to the statement "Pillar has been better than Jose anyway" BB's talking about the lumber, I know all about KP's defensive prowess.
Spanky99 Old-Timey Member Posted May 17, 2016 Posted May 17, 2016 Everyone who breaks the Utley rule slides hard. That's the point Spanky. He was quoted Grant that he slid hard to let them know he didn't appreciate getting HBP, and also said if I wanted to hurt him, I could've... 1 game is fine, he can appeal it and come away with a fine for all we know.
Maahfaace Verified Member Posted May 17, 2016 Posted May 17, 2016 If out of all of that Bautista gets 1 game and Pillar and JD get nothing thats a huge win. JD and Pillar have been better than Bautista anyway. BB's talking about the lumber, I know all about KP's defensive prowess. I read it as Pillar on the field is a win, which would include his defensive prowess

Appeal and then rescind when Bats needs an off day
