Rumors around twitter have Jose getting 5 games. Fair enough. For those saying he shouldn't have gotten suspended give me a break. He started a fight. Just because hes bad at fighting and got knocked into next week doesn't mean he wasn't at fault. Just a heads up in America if you come at somebody aggressive like that you better be ready to fight. Maybe 1 or 2 games. You're choosing to forget the fact that Bautista was only on base because he was hit intentionally. And he never "jogged" to Odor, they were like 5 feet away from each other after the slide.

We're really in virgin territory for hard slides. That slide was legal and fairly typical as recently as last year. Maybe a suspension for it but I feel like the fact that he's a repeat offender is more relevant than the circumstance of the slide itself.

 

I just watched the video again. He did not by any stretch start the fight. He did not raise his arms until after the shove from Odor. When he's confronting Odor, he's clearly just yapping away at him. He started an argument not a fight. That's plain as day.

The rule is the player is called out for an illegal slide. Bautista was called out. If he gets suspended you better start suspending every other player that gets called out at second for an illegal slide.
