burlingtonbandit Old-Timey Member Posted April 22, 2016 Posted April 22, 2016 On the bright side the Yankees and Red Sox both lost so its not like the Jays are in a huge rut to start the season. The Os have a big lead but I can't see that pitching staff keeping it together. Jays are only 1 game below .500 which isn't that bad if you look around the league. I mean look at the Astros who are 5-11
CJ-Freeway Old-Timey Member Posted April 22, 2016 Posted April 22, 2016 Hopefully Sonny no hits us tomorrow. Maybe then someone might do something. Dunno what could be done other than to give Pompey another shot? And I feel bad for Cola but he has to be DFA'd soon :/

Even if they get swept at home this next series they still have a good shot. They were a game below .500 when they made the big trades last year and took the division by 5 games.

KingKat Old-Timey Member Posted April 22, 2016 Posted April 22, 2016 There are so many pen arms in baseball that any team could reasonably go after. It's the most common commodity out there. Numerous closers, middle relievers, LOOGYs, and minor league sleepers could be had. I don't think it's necessary though. Certainly not this early. The worst reliever is Venditte and he's due to be replaced by whichever of Loup or Morales gets healthy first. The team could also turn to Girodo if they get really impatient with him.
bronson44 Verified Member Posted April 22, 2016 Posted April 22, 2016 Valencia going on the dl, so at least we don't have to worry about him killing us next series
Angrioter Old-Timey Member Posted April 22, 2016 Posted April 22, 2016 O's and White Suxx winnings games. MLB is so weird
BlueJayWay Verified Member Posted April 22, 2016 Posted April 22, 2016 So how many games did we lose when leading after 6 innings? By my count they've lost twice while leading into the 8th, two more times while leading into the 7th, and another time leading into the 6th...
RealAccountant Old-Timey Member Posted April 22, 2016 Posted April 22, 2016 This offence is very top heavy and overrated. If you look at it overall, there is a real risk here that Tulo is basically Ryan Goins with the bat now. First base is a huge chasm without Cola's luck, and Pillar doesn't get on base much. It would have been a good idea to keep Revere, honestly at this point Saunders is hitting so well, why not DH him half the time and have Pompey come play LF. That way we can atleast add another bat. Desperately need to make some changes, or this will go downhill very fast.
Stangstag Old-Timey Member Posted April 22, 2016 Posted April 22, 2016 Just finished watching the game. This offense is pathetic. They're not snapping out of it because there is nothing to snap out of. it's pure crap. I'm actually pissed off I wasted 2 hours of my time instead of just checking the score. Tomorrow night I know not to make such a stupid mistake again and just follow along on my phone. What a damn joke Hopefully Sonny no hits us tomorrow. Maybe then someone might do something. Lol you have issues man. Maybe the front office should DFA Russell Martin to "send a message"?
John_Havok Old-Timey Member Posted April 22, 2016 Posted April 22, 2016 No trouble getting on base via walks(4 tonight).. but how about some hits with RISP? And when is Baltimore is gonna cool down? Only team in the AL East above .500... everyone else is below .500, including Boston. At least we're not the Yankees.. what a mess right now, as that team is about to sink to 5-9.. barely above Houston and Minnesota for the AL basement. Baltimore had the series gifted to them. They didnt do anything particularly impressive to deseve it. IF hits, bloop singles and broken gloves combined with terrible pen management from Gibby ....
