burlingtonbandit Old-Timey Member Posted April 20, 2016 Posted April 20, 2016 and pretty much every other day. Robo umps please! Jays benefited from a ton of calls in the first few innings. I'd be surprised if the Os had the advantage in calls during this game but because it was a big AB it looks worse in your mind.
Daniel Labude Jays Centre Contributor Posted April 20, 2016 Posted April 20, 2016 Some really questionable umpiring calls today Yes, but the umpire was consistent throughout the game.
Maahfaace Verified Member Posted April 20, 2016 Posted April 20, 2016 only 10 strikeouts last two games for jays, they look to be coming around to whats expected
intentional wok Old-Timey Member Posted April 20, 2016 Posted April 20, 2016 Even though the ump was probably calling time on those balks, how did not a single Jay personnel think to question it? These guys try to lawyer a call on any slide into second but let two obvious non-pitches get away?

Umpire didn't do anything wrong since JB stepped out.

Any chance the ump just yelled time but didn't signal it?...so everyone at ground level knew time was was called

RealAccountant Old-Timey Member Posted April 20, 2016 Posted April 20, 2016 Valiant Dickey is pitching tomorrow, you might want to call in sick.

Without it, batters could just get a free run in the bottom of the 9th of a tie game with a runner on 3rd or something.

Well good. I they had called a balk because JB basically baited the pitcher into it that would just be bad for baseball.

burlingtonbandit Old-Timey Member Posted April 20, 2016 Posted April 20, 2016 Just 4 Whiffs for Stroman tonight. That has to be one of the lowest for a SP this year.( While throwing 100 pitches)

THANOS Old-Timey Member Posted April 20, 2016 Posted April 20, 2016 Just 4 Whiffs for Stroman tonight. That has to be one of the lowest for a SP this year.( While throwing 100 pitches) Pretty awful. I blame Stro and Martin. Stro's stuff is far too nasty to be relying on BABIP all the time. He'll adjust. The Orioles are a good - and hot - hitting team. They're also a team full of high career strikeout players.
burlingtonbandit Old-Timey Member Posted April 20, 2016 Posted April 20, 2016 He'll adjust. The Orioles are a good - and hot - hitting team. I think they were projected to strike out more than any other team this year lol.
Hal Johnson Verified Member Posted April 20, 2016 Posted April 20, 2016 They're also a team full of high career strikeout players. This is true. Still, I believe he'll figure it out.

Most people who comment on those articles have no idea what they are talking about and its just painful to read.

Haha I honestly never click them but decided to in this case because I wanted to see what the casuals would say about Stroman. Your name gave it away.
thatoneguy Old-Timey Member Posted April 20, 2016 Posted April 20, 2016 Always a good day when the Jays win and the Yanks, Sox and O's all lose.
Sammy225 Old-Timey Member Posted April 20, 2016 Posted April 20, 2016 Whats with Smoakie and all these walks. Does he think he is Jose with all those.... May of had another one if he didn't get hosed on the 2-2 pitch a foot outside.

Putting balls in play cuts off plate appearances before a K or BB conclusion is possible!
