Sammy225 Old-Timey Member Posted April 18, 2016 Posted April 18, 2016 Oh man....phew. Great W after fighting through the adversity of those DPs and Martin's AB was awesome. I'm callin' it...Tulo's based juiced BB off Kimbrel is his turning point. Back in business birds. I don't know if its Tulos because Martins AB was the best i have seen this season... Pressure against one of the best relievers in the game down 1-2 in the count, runs the count full and he fouls a bunch of good pitches off to finally loop one the other way
HERPDERP Old-Timey Member Posted April 18, 2016 Posted April 18, 2016 Tulo still needs to show he can hit with authority. Martin had a good AB and he went oppo. That is encouraging.

Agree Martin's AB was better. I was speaking for Tulo individually as a hitter, who has mostly been lost. Also nice to see Cecil being Cecil although LHH aren't offering at the hook as easily as last season yet. Just not quite got the late bite yet. Its comin' That was a big W even though early in season.
Dick_Pole Old-Timey Member Posted April 18, 2016 Posted April 18, 2016 The State of the Blue Jays for the first two weeks: 7-7 4-4 on the road (8 out of 14 on the road, 4 of those at TB where the Jays have stunk for the past decade) 3.7 runs against per game (really, really good) 4 runs scored per game (disappointing) 7-3 starting pitchers combined record (the Jays have been in pretty much every game, or blown late) 3 regulars batting less than .150 (unsustainable) Happ and Sanchez pitching over their heads? (Debatable, but not a definite conclusion) I see very little to be concerned about. The offensive will sort itself out. Meanwhile the starting pitching might not be as good as we have seen so far, but there's a chance it is better than what we were hoping for coming into the season.

Spanky99 Old-Timey Member Posted April 18, 2016 Posted April 18, 2016 WTF? Cracked nail to a blister???
Terminator Old-Timey Member Posted April 18, 2016 Posted April 18, 2016 WTF? Cracked nail to a blister??? Yeah I noticed that too. Conflicting reports from Hazel Mae who said it was a cracked fingernail and Shi Davidi who said it is a blister.

Every AB that inning was very good AB's, as Orgfiller said, that's the Blue Jays we know. 15 hits yesterday and plenty of contact today, I'm feeling pretty good going into Maryland.

Tulo's BB with bases drunk today was the first run Kimbrel ever walked in. That's crazy. Tide is turnin' my friend.

That was the game for me, Tulo dug himself into a 1-2 count and walked through fire by NOT pulling the trigger. He was in deep waters and battled back to earn that BB. Martin's AB was phenomenal too but he had way less pressure than Tulo did. Kimbrel had just struck out EE so his confidence was soaring and he backed Tulo into a 1-2 count, the score was 1-1 with two out so Tulo had zero margin for error. He showed extreme guts there.

Trouba95 Old-Timey Member Posted April 18, 2016 Posted April 18, 2016 RA Dickey has been one of the best pitchers in the major leagues over the last 3 years -Mike WIlner He didn't say that. He said "RA Dickey has been one of the best pitchers in the major leagues over the 2nd half of the last 3 years." I don't like Dickey, but stop using selective listening.

Brownie19 Old-Timey Member Posted April 19, 2016 Posted April 19, 2016 Hurl posted an article and graphs that show this is normal for Storen, concerning the velo, I'm not worried. Can we repost this. I missed it and I'm interested.

thatoneguy Old-Timey Member Posted April 19, 2016 Posted April 19, 2016 How'd you guys get a 52 page GDT for an 11:05 AM start?? Based on what I read, a lot of stupidity.
