KingKat Old-Timey Member Posted April 18, 2016 Posted April 18, 2016 I still believe in Storen, let's give him some more time before we write him off completely in high leverage situations. All things considered Storen has pitched really well but I don't love the way he's being used. Once he gets that missing tick on the fastball, he'll be money, especially considering that he's relatively effective now. I just don't love that he's being used as if he were 100% when he's not quite there. Hopefully, he'll get better before it bites the Jays in the ass.
Belliss101 Old-Timey Member Posted April 18, 2016 Posted April 18, 2016 Gibbons risked it and we barely won. We obviously need more help in a few places on this roster. LF, Backup C and bullpen x 2. So yeah our roster so far stinks. What is wrong with LF?

He was nasty yesterday, hit the gun at 94 a couple times and sat 93... today, not so much.
intentional wok Old-Timey Member Posted April 18, 2016 Posted April 18, 2016 Storen pitched yesterday, though. Totally forgot. Maybe Gibby was afraid the Sox would have something on Osuna after yesterday and didn't want to risk it. Now I'm grasping. Out of ideas.
Spanky99 Old-Timey Member Posted April 18, 2016 Posted April 18, 2016 What is wrong with LF? Nothing, he's retarded. Pompey for Carrera, sure.

The BABIP monster is getting him. .333 entering today and it's only worse today after those ground ball singles.
Terminator Old-Timey Member Posted April 18, 2016 Posted April 18, 2016 Well there you have it. Osuna has a cracked fingernail, that's why he wasn't available.

burlingtonbandit Old-Timey Member Posted April 18, 2016 Posted April 18, 2016 No timetable for his return? That sounds bad.

Yeah I'm agreeing with you on that but he's also clearly not maintaining his velocity like he has in the past. It's weird to me that an objective piece of data like that would just be ignored. That being said, batting Pillar leadoff requires ignoring a LOT of data so I guess that's just the way these things go. The velocity we saw from Storen yesterday probably means he's close to 100% anyways so it could all be moot very soon.

Hurl posted an article and graphs that show this is normal for Storen, concerning the velo, I'm not worried.
BigCecil Old-Timey Member Posted April 18, 2016 Posted April 18, 2016 Oh man....phew. Great W after fighting through the adversity of those DPs and Martin's AB was awesome. I'm callin' it...Tulo's based juiced BB off Kimbrel is his turning point. Back in business birds.

Sammy225 Old-Timey Member Posted April 18, 2016 Posted April 18, 2016 don't forget our best starter will be moved to the bullpen for the stretch run just noted the 2nd highest OBP is Smoak at .389.... Stroman?
KingKat Old-Timey Member Posted April 18, 2016 Posted April 18, 2016 RA Dickey has been one of the best pitchers in the major leagues over the last 3 years -Mike WIlner It's just like Wilner to make a meaningless statement like that. Just adjust "the best" to include as many pitchers as you need to cover wherever Dickey ranks.
