Lowe got 6.5M a year for two years from Detroit. Wasn't peanuts.

Yes, I'm going to be "that guy" in this thread.

You don't sign Smoak, you do sign Lowe and you don't trade Revere or Hendricks and several of the team's problems go away with a slight savings on salary. Even if Revere gets injured in the alternate universe where he's still on this team, the roster is constructed in a way where Pompey can come in to replace him.

At least when Anthopoulos f***ed s*** up, he went grand, all in, and went down in a flaming ball of fire.

I'll never understand the attachment people have to every FA that leaves their team.

Giving Mark Lowe a Free Agent contract would have been f***ing retarded. Absolutely mental. Anybody saying that the Blue Jays should have re-signed Mark Lowe has their entire opinion disregarded categorically.

Better options that Mark Lowe:

Floyd 1M, Biagini 500K, Chavez 4M

Should have kept Valencia over Colabello. That move will haunt this team for years.

Should have traded him for anything in the offseason. He was dreadful in ST. idk what other solution we have though, only thing I can see is Bautista at 1st and Pompey in the OF, but I don't see that happening.

From what I keep reading he's an issue in the club house. Got benched in Oakland for those issues too.

Bautista (old) and Saunders (knee) should not be in the OF every day. Pompey and Pillar can cover LF and CF, JB and Condor can split RF/DH. Simple.

Colabello value dropped to negative site

Him and Smoak are now 2-34, 4 BB, 0 XBH, 18 K

I honestly don't think the Jays even see a problem. Gibbons probably thinks they're both good reliable hitters even though Colabello had one fluke year and SMoak has never been anything but useless

They are playing Juan Francisco level. It's only 12 games, but they all count at the end...These are some horrendous ass starts. Gibby answer "just keep throwing em back out there. They have been good hitters a long time". If that were true, I'd be ok with it.

Not a bad idea actually. Leave EE at 1st, forgot about that.

Even though Pompey is performing I don't see the FO calling him up for at least another month. They spoke about how he was rushed in the past so I doubt they pull a U-turn and call him up based on 20 games.

Saunders does look pretty s***** in the OF though. If Smoak continues to be this bad I think I would try Saunders out at 1B.

Now that the Pillar lead off joke is over, how long until management realizes carrying Smoak and Cola is a joke? Who goes to AAA, gets traded for a bag of balls, or just plain cut first?

If Bautista wasn't such a diva, him splitting time with EE at 1B and Pompey in the OF would be the obvious solution. Forget 1B, i think he would threw a fit if we asked him to split time at DH with Saunders and EE playing 1B, he still thinks he's a very good outfielder.

Is Bautista even a worse OF than Saunders? I know Saunders has been good before but he moves like Melky Cabrera in LF.

I thought Smoak was a plus defender but his numbers are not good.

Numbers show something else

23 games really stabilizes a player's UZR.
