Floortom Verified Member Posted April 16, 2016 Posted April 16, 2016 Wtf...Smoak has 11ks this year in 12 at bats
JaysWest Verified Member Posted April 16, 2016 Posted April 16, 2016 I'm not much of a dickey fan either, but, Only one guy on the jays hit the ball. Regardless of what dickey did, chances are we'd lose a game like that That's true, but it is demoralizing for any team to fall behind big early and affects their play. And Dickey is a star at that.
Daniel Labude Jays Centre Contributor Posted April 16, 2016 Posted April 16, 2016 We are playing like one of the worst offenses in baseball right now (yes I know we are not). Offense needs to wake up and Dickey needs to be cut.
nmrch Verified Member Posted April 16, 2016 Posted April 16, 2016 Obligatory Smoakabello update, 2-31, 4 BB, 0 XBH, 17 K
closetjaysfan Verified Member Posted April 16, 2016 Posted April 16, 2016 First base is a major black hole. Gibby should seriously consider moving EE to first and calling up someone from AAA to DH
Hal Johnson Verified Member Posted April 16, 2016 Posted April 16, 2016 Obligatory Smoakabello update, 2-31, 4 BB, 0 XBH, 17 K That is just ridiculous.
nmrch Verified Member Posted April 16, 2016 Posted April 16, 2016 Smoak and Colabello with a combined 50‰ k rate, have exactly zero extra base hits to show for it
Hal Johnson Verified Member Posted April 16, 2016 Posted April 16, 2016 First base is a major black hole. Gibby should seriously consider moving EE to first and calling up someone from AAA to DH Or call up Pompey, and have EE/Bautista play DH/1B.
Angrioter Old-Timey Member Posted April 16, 2016 Posted April 16, 2016 Twins have a chance to win one! Angels scored 3 runs. Angels 4 - 2 Twins
Effit Old-Timey Member Posted April 16, 2016 Posted April 16, 2016 Baltimore just put up a 9 spot to take a 10-5 lead. Must be nice.
jaysfan2014 Old-Timey Member Posted April 16, 2016 Posted April 16, 2016 Time to end the Pillar leadoff experiment. He's still not doing well there. And one of Smoak or Cola need to go.. neither are hitting. And Smoak just probably lost more playing time after that 4 K game..
Angrioter Old-Timey Member Posted April 16, 2016 Posted April 16, 2016 Or call up Pompey, and have EE/Bautista play DH/1B. Jesus Montero should be the guy.
jaysfan2014 Old-Timey Member Posted April 16, 2016 Posted April 16, 2016 Must be nice. Not so good for Faulkner and Wilhelmsen--one has earned a DFA and one has a trip to AAA looming after this disaster.
Hal Johnson Verified Member Posted April 16, 2016 Posted April 16, 2016 Jesus Montero should be the guy. Oh yeah! Forgot about him.
CJ-Freeway Old-Timey Member Posted April 16, 2016 Posted April 16, 2016 Baltimore just put up a 9 spot to take a 10-5 lead. Reminds me of our offense last year:(
nmrch Verified Member Posted April 16, 2016 Posted April 16, 2016 Or call up Pompey, and have EE/Bautista play DH/1B. Yes please, would rather have Pompey fail then those two bums. At the least, we'll be a better defensive team
Angrioter Old-Timey Member Posted April 16, 2016 Posted April 16, 2016 Oh yeah! Forgot about him. Pompey is our future. No need to burn him now.
jaysfan2014 Old-Timey Member Posted April 16, 2016 Posted April 16, 2016 Hello Darkness my old friend.. It's only 11 games in. And most of the AL East isn't doing that well either.. Yanks are struggling (losing 7-1 to fricking Seattle!) and the Rays.. don't ask! (oh and they lost Kiermaier to a potential concussion on that collision with Forsythe.)
glory Old-Timey Member Posted April 16, 2016 Posted April 16, 2016 Yeah, Smoakabello has been terribad so far. I'd rather they just start one full time and roll with it (the inconsistent playing time might be hurting both of them) but neither one has a track record besides Cola's BABIP inflated season last year. s*** canning both and calling up Montero wouldn't hurt, though that says more about how bad they've been than anything Jesus has done. Pompey in LF with Bautista at 1B/DH would be the best solution, but no way that's going to happen on JB's free agent season.
burlingtonbandit Old-Timey Member Posted April 16, 2016 Posted April 16, 2016 Its not even that bad Jays are 5-6. The Astros are friggen 3-7 and still look like they should win the division comfortably.
nmrch Verified Member Posted April 16, 2016 Posted April 16, 2016 Jesus Montero should be the guy. Montero is basically Smoak without the switch hitting, projects for them are almost identical. No thanks, give Pompey a chance and don't f*** with him, let him play though a cold steak or two
Hal Johnson Verified Member Posted April 16, 2016 Posted April 16, 2016 Yes please, would rather have Pompey fail then those two bums. At the least, we'll be a better defensive team Travis 2B Donaldson 3B Bautista 1B/DH EE 1B/DH Tulo SS Saunders LF/RF Martin C Pillar CF Pompey RF/LF Bench: Goins, Smoak, Thole, Cecilliani Looks good to me.
bronson44 Verified Member Posted April 16, 2016 Posted April 16, 2016 It's only going to get worse with Angel Hernandez tomorrow. omg no
jaysfan2014 Old-Timey Member Posted April 16, 2016 Posted April 16, 2016 Reminds me of our offense last year:( Especially when they're hitting sh*t relievers like Wilhelmsen and Faulkner.. Jays could probably do the same thing. Why can't we have a break from the AL East already..
Belliss101 Old-Timey Member Posted April 16, 2016 Posted April 16, 2016 Its not even that bad Jays are 5-6. The Astros are friggen 3-7 and still look like they should win the division comfortably. It's a blessing that with how bad we are playing we're still 5-6.
nmrch Verified Member Posted April 16, 2016 Posted April 16, 2016 Pompey is our future. No need to burn him now. You're supposed to give your "future" a chance, what better time than now?
Angrioter Old-Timey Member Posted April 16, 2016 Posted April 16, 2016 Montero is basically Smoak without the switch hitting, projects for them are almost identical. No thanks, give Pompey a chance and don't f*** with him, let him play though a cold steak or two Montero below 20% K. Pompey con wait, he will be our CF next year.
Dick_Pole Old-Timey Member Posted April 16, 2016 Posted April 16, 2016 It's a blessing that with how bad we are playing we're still 5-6. You mean the starters have generally been covering more than their fair share. I'm actually pretty optimistic. If the rotation can stay decent and the offense outside of the big three remember how to hit the Jays can go on another one of their patented 11 game win streaks soon enough.
