When people need to clear waivers in order to be traded, they usually put them on waivers to see if they can clear before there's any actual trade discussion going on. This seems to imply that once you clear waivers once, you're good to go for the rest of the season.

those are revocable waivers for the purpose of trading after the deadline. the waivers related to option years are a different set I beleive
