Yeah I'd tweak the order some but Bautista at DH, Upton in the OF and Smoak on the bench is the right setup.

Has anyone here been to a Rays game in Florida? I wonder how miserable it feels.

 

Yes, but not in Tampa Bay. We probably had more fans at Dunedin Stadium (~5000?).

They'd probably make more money just by giving away seats for free. Like all upper seats and cash in on the concessions.

 

Tampa Bay Lightning were selling upper bowl tickets in the Stanley Cup Final for 2 bucks when they won the cup. Canadians had those lapped up in minutes, lol.

I'm the same. It stresses me out, and I get in a horrible mood if we are playing poorly. Especially giving away runs, even though it's part of the game. Sometimes I just pvr the game. Check the score when it ends and then decide if ill roll through it. I need to just enjoy it like you said. It's only entertainment. Watching that replay on the Texas series Game 5 gives me chills. Craziest thing I've ever seen except maybe Tex blowing it to the Cards in Game 7 of the WS.

 

Wow man you sound just like me, at times it used to put me in a bad mood, even the wife noticed, I always have to remind myself it's a game and enjoy it while the winning lasts, but it is hard when you are passionate about something to not let emotion creep in. The playoffs last year I am pretty sure I was breaking out in sweats I was that stressed lmao.

I don't mind when he's on, Dickey out of the pen would be a shitshow.

 

He would really only be serviceable as a long man. Would he be any different from he is as a SP, as a reliever? It's not like his knuckleball would "play up" out of the bullpen. And it would be hard to bring him in with runners on due to the passed balls.

 

Might be able to get value out of the dickey effect if you brought him in to pitch one time through the order and then put the real SP in.

Same here too. I'm pretty even- keeled throughout the season but the feelings I was getting in the playoffs last year are starting to come back. All our games last year during the playoffs were during the day and I quit eating lunch because I had no appetite - too nervous. After we lost to the Royals it stung for about an hour but a night at the bar took the sting out of it. Like you said, it's just entertainment.

Yup. Ever since this team moved Jimmy Paredes I just don't have quite the confidence in them I used to.

I hope I don't sound like a weirdo, but I think it is a bit more then "Just entertainment", being a dedicated fan of a team, that becomes a bit of the fabric of a person if that makes any sense. I view the Jays as a bit more then entertainment, it makes me feel a heck of a lot different watching them in the playoffs then any other forms of entertainment.
