f*** me, still can't believe they let the division slip away so easily.

 

Boston's done excessively well this month. Even if the Jays went a respectable 11-8 instead of a disastrous 7-12 they are still 1.5 games behind. So I wouldn't call it letting the division "slip away". If they fall out of the WC race, yes that would have been tossed away.

Carrera starting again.

 

Gibby lost sight of his love for Zeke but it has been rekindled.

 

Who's better... Carrera or Upton against a RHP, it's pretty obvious.

Agreed. Zeke is swinging it a little better it seems and although he can suck on D...we can say the same about Upton. He hasn't been as strong on D as I'd hoped so far. Against a RHP I'm ok with it.

Carrera: 85 wrc+

 

2016 vs rhp

Upton: 70 wrc+

Carrera: 58 wrc+

 

Melvin is the better player, offensively and defensively (not saying much but still). Gibby just doing what Gibby does.

 

Carrera is not good. Glad he was able to win a game with a HR a while back, but that doesn't mean he's worthy of more playing time.

Bautista has really tanked his value. The optics of being so bad in the field that you have to DH so Ezequiel Carrera can play...

Carrera is at least more fun to watch, Upton every time he strikes out walks back like gee it wasn't my fault.!!!!!

What we have seen from Upton in the field hasn't been any better than Carrera.

Carrera has been a better defender than Upton this year. Hitter as well..

I have little faith in either but that game that Upton single handily f***ed up, by barely being able to pick the ball up once it stopped rolling, makes me never want to see him play again

Wonder how much money goes into the stadium vs. the new complex. Have to think with all the talk about player development that the new Mattick facility will be impressive. Maybe they add a few seats to the existing stadium.

 

Kind of criminal the Blue Jays will only pay 15 Million out of the deal.

When you consider we gave Morales $2M for free this year, I have to agree. I would have expected the Jays to be contributing $30-40M

I don't think it really has much to do with Morales but only having to pay 15 Million just says whats wrong with the politics of sports.

 

That being said I'm excited for next week to see what it looks like.

Wrong thread I guess, posted after he got 5 outs on about 10 pitches.

 

I would rather this approach than waiting to strike out, like they've been doing all season.

Magic numbers (number of combined games the Jays need to win and their opponents need to lose to clinch a playoff spot):

 

KCR - 2

NYY - 5

HOU - 6

SEA - 7

BAL - 8

DET - 9

 

With 9 games left it looks very doable :)

Sorry Upton is Horrible

 

Liriano is not. Era close to 3 since coming over.

 

Even if he can give us a 3.5-4.0 ERA next year over 180+ innings I'll take that happily
