burlingtonbandit Old-Timey Member Posted September 8, 2016 Posted September 8, 2016 AL East or bust dude. nah. Look at how wildcard teams have done in the playoffs the last few years.
Governator Community Moderator Posted September 8, 2016 Posted September 8, 2016 Welp, I think it's time I take the next day and half off here. Be back tomorrow night, too much exhaustion thinking about Jays all week and I've always considered trying to be productive at work.
West Texas Forever Old-Timey Member Posted September 8, 2016 Posted September 8, 2016 nah. Look at how wildcard teams have done in the playoffs the last few years. I know the Jays pulled it off last playoffs but I doubt this team in a one off game this year.
glory Old-Timey Member Posted September 8, 2016 Posted September 8, 2016 A one game playoff scares the crap out of me. Imagine if the Jays/Rangers last year was a WC game. It was freakin Price against Gallardo and the Jays did not have a lead for a single second of that game. The randomness is awful. I'd take the WC game over not making it at all, but I don't trust this team to win a do or die game. Win the division, please.

Jays didn't play the wildcard game last year? Anything can happen in 1 game obviously, doubting a team based on how they have played won't have much to do with who wins though.

A WC Game, if it comes down to that, would be against Detroit or Baltimore. Anything can happen.
harvey16 Verified Member Posted September 8, 2016 Posted September 8, 2016 The Jays are still in a good position and they have a more favorable schedule then Boston or Baltimore. That west coast road trip is gonna be huge. We take 5 of 7 out there, we win the division.

It just sucks that we let that 2-4 game lead over BOS and BAL whittle away If Boston gets hot they could stay ahead while we can't keep up. It's just the Jays have less control now as they've let too many teams get close.
glory Old-Timey Member Posted September 8, 2016 Posted September 8, 2016 13 of 16 games against the East are at home (3 vs Boston, 3 vs Tampa, 4 vs Yankees, 3 vs Baltimore), with the only road games against the ALE being the final 3 games of the year at Fenway. The non-ALE road games are in LA and Seattle. The West coast trip is always scary for the Jays, but that's a shitload of home games against the East. No one to blame but themselves if they mess that up.

Have never been more frustrated with losses than those games, probably because of the late games making me more cranky, but still countless times I've lost it -- specifically against the Angels and O's. M's too sometimes.

burlingtonbandit Old-Timey Member Posted September 9, 2016 Posted September 9, 2016 Hasn't his velo dropped since then as well. Thats probably why the spin rate has changed.
Sam Verified Member Posted September 9, 2016 Posted September 9, 2016 That's all together stupid. 2400 to 2360 isn't a significant change at all. I just looks that way at a first glance because of the graph. Just like guys velocity changes slightly from game to game, the same goes for spin rate.
HERPDERP Old-Timey Member Posted September 9, 2016 Posted September 9, 2016 So... Pretty big games this weekend huh? I'm forcing myself to not watch Friday/Saturday. Unfortunately I'll be out downtown so I may end up hearing about the game from random fans. The Jays winning/losing this late into the season really affects my mood.

Well even it Estrada isn't good anymore, at least he's only signed for 1 more year. We got him on a great contract.

Stangstag Old-Timey Member Posted September 9, 2016 Posted September 9, 2016 Hoping one of those teams is out of it by then *hoping* I don't think that'll be the case. That last week is gonna have a playoff atmosphere. Should be nuts.

BTS Community Moderator Posted September 9, 2016 Posted September 9, 2016 The straight forward honesty is refreshing. Yeah, it is. I love it. I also love the lack of inclination to give ageing vets FA dollars.

Well, I seriously doubt that any of Toronto, Boston, or Baltimore will be more than 6 games out heading to that last week, so everyone will be in it. Hopefully we can lay the beatdown against the Yankees the weekend before to kill their final hopes.
