Got the All Star Break blues going on.

Watching the 7th of Game 5 against TEX on YouTube to wash them away. Its sometimes easy to forget just how rare, crazy, awesome that was. Never seen anything like it.

I went back and watched it a few times since then. I was at the game and will never forget it for the rest of my life.

Ive re-watched quite abit of ALCS game 6 as well. We were so close to a game 7, unfortunately things didnt go our way. The Caleb caught homerun that was a 50-50 double and the brutal strike call on Revere with the 2-1 count.

No kidding. What memories. Gm 6 made us endure endless "the Royals way" comments. Martin scorched a ball with 2 on. I think that JD liner to 3rd for an out have an exit V of 110. No luck.

Price went to his breaking ball a lot after the HR and the Caleb 2B and started pitched well. The strike calls to Navvy and Revere against Davis finished us snuffing out the rally. I'm still bitter. To be that close and have to the umps affect the outcome so drastically. The difference between 2-2 and 3-1 against Davis is everything. Even with all that, at the end of the day we had the right guy at the plate in JD and he just couldn't find a hole. 2016 is a big year for us.

Man I skipped an exam review session to watch this game at home, man I will never forget that game. I lost my voice when Bautista hit the homer, I never felt anything like this before as a sports fan.

Like this had so much of an effect on me that I stop considering myself a fan of a European Soccer team (Chelsea FC) because despite watching them on and off for about 8 years, and despite how many titles i see them win, I never felt a moment that came near the Bautista homer. And the Jays didn't even win anything. I had the same enjoyment the Greeks in Danforth had when they advanced to the next round of the World Cup lol

Good start to 2nd half

Daniel Mengden is good too

No it isn't.

Yup. If we can lock both up for a total of 45$M per year for 3 years I would be super delighted. Gives us somewhat of an extended run while we can start to develop some prospects through Shapiro and Atkins philosophy and we can retool. People forget that if we don't lock these guys in we're f***ed and we probably need to do a rebuild because the minors are empty so no ones coming up and no ones available to trade. At least budget is gonna be increased or at least staying the same, so with our cheap rotation we need to sign big bats, and these 2 are the biggest bats to sign. No need to sell them on the team or the city either.

I would look to somehow offload Marin in a Wells-like deal where we salary dump, which if we make a postseason run and he has a decent end to the season offensively he'll be easier to deal. That's the worst deal on the book IMO, at least Tulo is useful

There's also a lot of guys like you who think we ARE f***ed if we don't sign them, which is not the case.

Adam Lind is available, Brandon Moss, Josh Reddick... All great players that can likely be signed for under 20 million a season. There are other shrewd signings to be made too. Also potential trades. Even without Bautista and Edwin, we still have Donaldson/Tulo to anchor the lineup. With strong-average hitters throughout the rest of the lineup, and an improved pitching staff, the team could still be strong enough without Edwin/Bautista.

I could see us morphing into a team built around pitching and defense instead of offense in a hurry...that's kind of what Cleveland is right now :)

To play devils advocate - while I think Reddick and B.Moss would be very solid additions and I generally agree that with some shrewd moves, we do not need to rebuild at all - you have to remember there's a very strong possibility those "good fits" don't want to play or sign here.

You think Adam Lind and Reddick can replace EE and Bautsita?? LOL. Those guys are a couple tiers below EE and Bautista, guys like Reddick would be a solid piece to sure up the outfield not rely on them completely. How much do we truly save if we go with Reddick or Moss? Those guys are going to command 3-4 years above QO so let's say both 18 million a year you're looking at $36M/year or even if they both sign at QO rate you're looking at $30M. If we unload Martin (which I have a strong feeling we will), $9-15M per year extra is nothing for a team this big. Especially if we make/win the World Series. I was thinking we slot EE at first, Bautista at DH and get a guy like Reddick to play the outfield and even then we have a hole in the outfield if we don't sign Saunders. This team is good but taking these 2 out is a mistake

Edit: LOL come one man I just saw Lind's fangraphs page, in 70 games he's at -0.7 war and still s*** vs. Lefties. Don't forget his s***** lazy attitude that AA alluded to when we traded him. Don't want this guy near our team

Atkins on the radio now saying he's "pretty comfortable with what we have right now" in advance of the trade deadline. Says they will still "look to make the team better if possible"
