King Old-Timey Member Posted June 26, 2016 Posted June 26, 2016 Saw a clip where Mark Buehrle was at the White Sox Jays game and he said he hasn't retired yet....he would consider pitching out of the pen for the Sox or Jays.....The guy said are u serious.....he said I may be. He's just messing with the media.

He'd be the worst reliever ever.

All Buehrle would have to do is not throw meatballs and his whole career was been based on that principle. and yeah i dont expect him to play either.

crazy47larry Verified Member Posted June 26, 2016 Posted June 26, 2016 Yes, much much worse meh Loup sucks now and his velo is way down. he just throws meatballs and gets hammered. u'd have to dink and dunk buehrle to death and if hes only facing 3 batters thats virtually impossible. blah no point in even arguing it since its a point anyways.

Saunders is surprisingly alive this season but he is perilously close to dying once again. I'm more comfortable committing to E5.
nextyear Verified Member Posted June 26, 2016 Posted June 26, 2016 It should be a good game. Devon Travis looks like he will be a future All-Star and he is a good defender also; he is batting lead-off today.

Donaldson will be gone once be beginners a FA too. Everyone's knows it... And if they don't, they should.

But this ownership group is all about value. You rarely get superstars to a value deal, unless you lock them up before they're true superstars.. Too late to do that with FYSMC.
RealAccountant Old-Timey Member Posted June 26, 2016 Posted June 26, 2016 The injury filled under performing season Bautista is having, we may see a deal with the Jays indeed.

Saunders is surprisingly alive this season but he is perilously close to dying once again. I'm more comfortable committing to E5. Doesn't say they feel comfortable about signing Saunders at all. The context is for trading Bautista this year and he's saying that because of Saunders breakout they could handle trading Bautista and still compete for the division (I don't personally agree with what he's saying). Plus Sherman really has no better idea about the Blue Jays plans than anyone else.
burlingtonbandit Old-Timey Member Posted June 26, 2016 Posted June 26, 2016 I disagree about Donaldson. If they sign him to an extension this offseason...a 5 year deal would be perfect. They explored signing him long term last offseason and didn't. His value has really only gone up since then so I don't expect them to all of a sudden chance their minds and sign him to a 6-8 year deal. From the player's point of view unless they are going to shell out market value there isn't much reason to sign a long term deal either. He's already received life changing money and will be 2 years from FA.
nextyear Verified Member Posted June 26, 2016 Posted June 26, 2016 I wonder if Bautista will gamble on a short term contract with the Blue Jays with the hope of future free agency dollars. Maybe 2 years at 20 million a year.

burlingtonbandit Old-Timey Member Posted June 26, 2016 Posted June 26, 2016 Not ownership group. Management Speaking of ownership if they raise the payroll into the 175 range I think management would look into signing 1 of the 2 more seriously. Jays are selling out weekday games and TV ratings are close to 1 million/night. Rogers is cashing in like crazy.

He has a serious toe injury that could cause this to be a mediocre year and will cast doubts on his future value. Maybe you should follow the game and politics more closely.

You realize there is 9 million dollars between 20M and 30M right? He'll get more then 20 and less then 30
