Grant77 Old-Timey Member Posted June 22, 2016 Posted June 22, 2016 Because you said JD is not good enough Not good enough to make it the best trade ever. How is that not obvious to everyone but a buffoon like boxcar?
fatcowxlive Old-Timey Member Posted June 22, 2016 Posted June 22, 2016 Well we failed to make ground but at least we didn't lose any!!! Thanks to the Padres and White Soz

HERPDERP Old-Timey Member Posted June 22, 2016 Posted June 22, 2016 I love it when the teams we are chasing also lose. It feels like a win to me.

fatcowxlive Old-Timey Member Posted June 22, 2016 Posted June 22, 2016 Unnecessary move Wait till you see that the PTBNL is Cano!!!
THANOS Old-Timey Member Posted June 22, 2016 Posted June 22, 2016 Unnecessary move If the PTBNL is not BP help, then I absolutely hate this move. He could have been our Rich Hill, judging from his K/9, FIP, etc.
BTS Community Moderator Posted June 22, 2016 Posted June 22, 2016 Guys, Wade LeBlanc really f***ing sucks.

He could have been our Rich Hill, judging from his K/9, FIP, etc. We know Sanchez is being replaced by Hutchison. We also know that Stroman sucks balls and could end up tiring by seasons end since he will be having a huge innings jump as well. So who is going to replace Stroman? We could use Chavez in that role, but he is turning into a valuable BP piece. We really didn't need to give up LeBlanc unless he's a shitballer who is doing better than his stuff indicates. I'd give him more of a shot than Antolin.

Leblanc's strikeout and walk numbers aren't much different than his entire MILB career.

When you have an opportunity to cling to a 31 year old journeyman who sits 87 and has had no tangible success in the majors, you do it.
BigBounceyBlueBalls Old-Timey Member Posted June 22, 2016 Posted June 22, 2016 Unnecessary move Odd move... Thought we needed depth and all, how's this help that???
Angrioter Old-Timey Member Posted June 22, 2016 Posted June 22, 2016 Odd move... Thought we needed depth and all, how's this help that??? He suxx, period

But performing better or now stats don't count in this forum either? Might have been value in using him in the pen or if someone goes down or amuck again!!!

Terminator Old-Timey Member Posted June 22, 2016 Posted June 22, 2016 Steamer has a pretty good projection for LeBlanc. But all of the sudden we have some decent RP depth with Cecil and Morales beginning rehab assignments, Loup refinding his way in AAA and Sanchez inevitably moving to the BP. That said we don't have any starting depth. Hutch will soon be the #5- I suppose that makes Chavez the #6? They must just see LeBlanc as a RP only. Good for them for getting something for him.

Might have been value in using him in the pen or if someone goes down or amuck again!!! He'd be like #12 on the pen depth chart. Loup, Girado, Cecil, Venditte and Morales are all ahead of him as Lefties.
RealAccountant Old-Timey Member Posted June 22, 2016 Posted June 22, 2016 I rather have Joey Leblanc starting

Good Cecil yes injured Cecil no bad Cecil maybe, as for the rest not sure about that they are not exactly studs by any means either!!! Plus out of the pen he may have had more upside and recieved a bump in his numbers too!!!
Governator Community Moderator Posted June 22, 2016 Posted June 22, 2016 The odds that a PTBNL is the next Ortiz is far and few. I feel like when Hutch moves to the rotation we have no one behind. Who's getting called up to take Leblanc's spot in Buffalo ?

Who's getting called up to take Leblanc's spot in Buffalo ? They can always acquire rotation depth... They have Floyd and Chavez as well who were brought in to be rotation depth.

Exactly and especially after all off season we were told we were trying to build depth because of a lack of it!!!
Brownie19 Old-Timey Member Posted June 22, 2016 Posted June 22, 2016 They can always acquire rotation depth... They have Floyd and Chavez as well who were brought in to be rotation depth. We'd have to send Floyd/Chavez to AAA for a month to stretch him out at this point. The reality is - we have no more depth behind Hutch outside of Diamond (who sucks).
Governator Community Moderator Posted June 22, 2016 Posted June 22, 2016 They can always acquire rotation depth... They have Floyd and Chavez as well who were brought in to be rotation depth. Floyd hasn't been a regular starter in what 4+ years?... Leblanc would likely have better results with no stretching out to be done and Chavez' HR rate is scary in this division as a starter (even though it's unsustainable.) We had depth, we just moved it... why?

The reality is - we have no more depth behind Hutch outside of Diamond (who sucks). Chavez or Floyd could probably go 3 innings for a start. Leblanc gives you what 5 innings if he doesn't get pulled before then? Leblanc isn't good so what difference does it make..
Governator Community Moderator Posted June 22, 2016 Posted June 22, 2016 When Sanchez gets moved to the BP are we running an 8 man pen or will someone get cut? Girodo's spot will be Cecil's soon and Biagini is here for the year. It could also mean someone is available for trade such as Floyd / Chavez / Storen? I believe Osuna/Sanchez are the only arms that can be optioned.
Hal Johnson Verified Member Posted June 22, 2016 Posted June 22, 2016 Ceciliani getting the start in RF today. Travis in the leadoff spot.
